Simple Cards Feed

Berry Delightful Sheetload of Cards

This week on the Colour Creations Showcase, I shared a stack of 9 cards using the Snail Mail Suite, inspired by the Call Me Crafty Al February Sheetload of Cards.

I was planning to do the Sheetload of cards project for my team night on Thursday, but I was so enjoying making the cards up with the gorgeous, fun, whimsical Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, that I ended up finishing them all long before Team Night started!

So, if you saw my blog post, you may have seen that I promised to come back with a whole new Sheetload of Cards project that I was actually going to do AT team night LOL

And here it it!

Berry Delightful - Stampin' Up

I selected the beautiful Pacific Point and mixed Green papers from the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper. This paper is a Sale-a-bration gift with purchase and comes with a matching stamp set of different summer berries.

IMG_8571

When following the Call Me Crafty Al cutting plan, you are left with a strip of the paper leftover, so of course it goes on the inside of the cards!

IMG_8575

I stamped the sentiment panel with the small sprinkles stamp from the Icecream Corner stamp set, using Just Jade Ink, stamped off once on scrap paper before stamping onto the sentiment.

I also found an unopened packet of the lovely Iridescent Pearls embellishments from last years July to August mini catalogue which were a perfect colour  to bling up the front.

IMG_8576

I used Night of Navy card for the base card, and Garden Green and Night of Navy for the two mat layers. And in this photo you can see I also embossed the Night of Navy banner with Meadow Moments embossing folder.

IMG_8577

Another sparkly embellishment that works really well is the Night of Navy jewels in the Holiday Rhinestones pack. I hope you like these - I can't believe there used to be a saying, "Blue & Green should never been seen unless there's a colour in between". I think these cards prove that blue and green are perfect partners!

If you'd like to find out how you can get your hands on this beautiful paper, don't hesitate to contact me - Talk soon!

Colour Creations Showcase - Pool Party

Hey! It's Kathryn here, and this week's Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase is a big favourite for lots of people!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Welcome to the Pool Party Colour Creations Showcase!

I have been playing with the gorgeous Snail Mail Suite a lot over the past week, and when I checked this weeks's colour, I was really pleased because even though Pool Party is not in the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper pack, there are toned down shades of Bermuda Bay which would work really well with this week's colour . . . . . !

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

This week is also my monthly team meeting (still via Zoom), and when I was looking for inspiration for a stamping project for this week, I remembered that I follow a Youtube channel "Call Me {Crafty} Al" where Alicia does a once a month Sheetload of Cards and puts up a video and templates for what we might call a Stamp-a-stack. When I looked at her February project, I could straight away see myself using the Snail Mail DSP with Pool Party base cards.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Pool Party

I gathered my supplies and started chopping! There are 9 base cards and 3 pieces of each size of every patterned paper. Crafty Al uses US card sizes so I tweaked the measurements to suit our A4 card stock sizes, and also took the liberty of flipping one of the sheets over since our papers are double sided and I really like the red hearts sheet. This gave me more variety too.

The sentiments are actually a free printable download from Crafty Al which she shared in January. Rather than go through my collection looking for stamps all around the same size, I decided to print the sentiment sheet on our Basic White card, stamp the mushroom image in Pool Party ink and use our Paper Trimmer to cut them out.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Pool Party

The Detailed Trio Punch was used on some of the corners, then all the layers adhered with Stampin' Seal adhesive.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Pool PartyThe one inch wide Pool Party banners were created with the Triple Banner Punch, then embossed with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder with the butterflies on it (it's a pack of two embossing folders that fit the new Mini Cut & Emboss Machine).

The banners were stuck down with Tear'n'Tape and then the sentiment piece was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. I decided at the last minute to adhere an extra layer of Pool Party card as a mat under the sentiment (as you do LOL).

I was supposed to be saving these to work on in steps whilst chatting to my team on Zoom tomorrow night, but whooops!! Once I started, I couldn't stop LOL Now I will have to make another set!

Stampin' Up! Snail Mail Suite

I adore the new Snail Mail Product Collection from Stampin' Up!

For years I have wanted some miniature envelope dies and stamps and I have seen a few different ones from other brands but as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I really wanted a set I could create with that I could then also be confident that my customers could buy the same stamps and dies to use themselves.

So when our January to June Mini Catalogue came out, I was very happy to see these!

Snail Mail Suite

This week our Colour Creations Showcase was Petal Pink and even though the pink in these papers is Blushing Bride, I was happy to mix and match the pieces to make 4 cute cards - two fancy fold cards for the blog hop, then 2 really quick standard cards using up the leftover bits.

Here's my Colour Creations Showcase post.

And here is the first of my extra cards made with the leftover pieces.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (13)

Most of these pieces are die-cut from the Designer Series Paper in the suite. There is a tiny bit of stamping in the background just to anchor the toadstools and snail to the ground.

On the inside of the card I put a simple strip of the DSP.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (14)

I wanted the second card to be even more simple with a bigger "white space" to rest the eyes from the bright images.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (15)

Again, on the inside I kept the decoration simple with a strip of DSP on a layer of the same Bermuda Bay card which adds depth to the card front.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (16)

Aren't they cute!

I can't wait to do a bit more with this product suite. I can see myself needing another packet of the Designer Series Paper really soon!

Did you know you can earn a free Sale-a-bration item if you order this Product Collection. Ask my more about it today.

Colour Creations Showcase - Old Olive

Hey! It's Kathryn here, welcome to the  Colour Creations Showcase where some of my lovely demonstrator friends on the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team share ideas for how to use each of the Stampin' Up! colours. Each week we showcase a different colour and this week it's Old Olive.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

This week I have tried something different.  I have my team night tomorrow night which like all of last year, is going to be via Zoom. So over the weekend I went looking for some card sketches and posted them on my group to challenge the ladies to put together mini kits for themselves that we can make while we are chatting on Zoom tomorrow night.

IMG_1141

I have been subscribed to Becky Fleck's pagemaps for many years so I was very happy to see these cardmaps - one landscape and one portrait for January 2021.

IMG_1142

I have been LOVING using up my collection of Designer Series Papers recently, and when I saw these sketches, along with knowing that this week's colour is Old Olive, I KNEW I was going to use the new delicious Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper from the January to June Mini Catalogue. (And in Melbourne' it's been perfect weather for icecream too!).

DSP

Don't you love all those bright gelato colours?

Here's what I came up with:

Don't you love the way the Old Olive base card and the Old Olive ink in the stamped greeting really brings out the green in the papers?

Ice Cream Corner Stampin' Up! cards for the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase

For the portrait card I chose the smaller pattern on the reverse side of one of the papers for the background of the top half, and opted for a few less banners as the paper was so pretty anyway.

Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy

Happy New Year Stampers!

It's Kathryn here, and I'm back with the second half of the Art With Heart 2020-2021 Colour Creations Showcase.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

This week we have the very versatile Night of Navy from the Neutrals Colour Family. Night of Navy has been in the Stampin' Up! colour range for as long as I can remember, at times being the "new black" and always being a staple colour, for it's versatility.

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

I have created the colour combination chart this week from the colours in the lovely Paper Blooms 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper which is one of the free gifts you can select during Sale-a-bration with your $90 product order.

155222

The paper coordinates with products in the new January to June mini catalogue, but you'll see that you don't have to have ALL the coordinating products to produce gorgeous matching projects.

After the crazy year that was 2020, I decided that I didn't need a day to a page diary or planner this year and I got myself a $2.48 week to a view A5 diary, knowing that I could easily cover it with Stampin' Up! paper to make it pretty!

Stampin' Up! Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy, Paper Blooms card using Saleabration 2021 paper

I thought the sentiment from Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set was a perfect fit to adorn the cover going into a new year, and I added a bookmark to keep track of the weeks.

Stampin' Up! Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy, Paper Blooms card using Saleabration 2021 paper

On the inside first page I put a little affirmation - also from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set, and on the week beginning March 1st, I added another - being the first week of Semester 1 for my third year at uni. I love that the Night of Navy ink matches the printing in the diary.

Stampin' Up! Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy, Paper Blooms card using Saleabration 2021 paper

Covering the diary was so easy - just like you would with school books, and once I had all the papers out, I wanted to use all of them - they are so pretty! So I decided to whip up a really quick stack of birthday cards, to get me started with the 2021 birthday mail outs.

Stampin' Up! Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy, Paper Blooms card using Saleabration 2021 paper

All I've done is layer a piece of the Designer Series Paper onto  Night of Navy card bases and added the fun sentiment stamp using layering dies.  A few different rhinestones finish them off.

Stampin' Up! Colour Creations Showcase - Night of Navy, Paper Blooms card using Saleabration 2021 paper

On two of the cards, I also used the little white fabric flowers out of the Boho Indigo card kit to add more texture. And of course I added a strip of the lovely paper to the insides.

Colour Creations Showcase - Mango Melody

Welcome to week 24 of the Art With Heart team Colour Creations Showcase!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

This week the star of the show is Mango Melody.  And do you know, I can't remember EVER using this colour before?

And yet it is such a bright, cheery, pick me up kind of cocktail colour!

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

When I realised which colour was this week, I had a bit of a panic about what to make with it, but then I saw a stamp set on my shelf which hadn't been opened and used - and it just screamed out to be used with Mango Melody - hmmmmm! Mango cocktails! What a perfect thing in this suddenly humid weather we've been having!

Nothing's Better Than Stampin' Up Mango Melody (1)

I also grabbed out the leftover bits from my Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin Kit and suddenly I was making way more than one card - so much brightness and fun!  The colourful strip along the bottom of this first card is one of the card fronts from the Share Sunshine cards, cut into 1" strips. And I added some sequins out of the kit for a bit of sparkle.

Nothings Better Than Stampin Up Mango Melody (1)

This card contains another 1" strip of card front from the Paper Pumpkin kit, along with the pineapple, black and white polka dot piece and more sequins.  The stamp set has 26 pieces for lots of mix and match greetings AND there's a coordinating die set for cutting out those cute cocktails!

Nothings Better Than Stampin Up Mango Melody (4)

The stamp set is photopolymer so it's really easy to line up the words to make a fun background - this one is inked with Mango Melody and every  second image is stamped off (or "second generation stamping").

But WAIT!! There are not just cocktail stamps in this set! How could I use the set without also making at least one COFFEE card!?!  And how cute and funky are those coffee cups!

Nothings Better Than Stampin Up Mango Melody (3)

I can't believe what a fun colour Mango Melody is, after ignoring it for so long! I really enjoyed designing these cards and putting them together!

Nothings Better Than Stampin Up Mango Melody (6)

See the lovely touch of gold on the pineapple? And here is what the inside of the card looks like:

Nothings Better Than Stampin Up Mango Melody (2)

I really hope you will check out the rest of the amazing projects by my Art With Heart stamping friends. You can do that by clicking here and going to lovely Cathy's blog where she has ALL the links.

Hope to see you again next week when we showcase Melon Mambo.

Colour Creations Showcase - Just Jade

Welcome to the 22nd Colour Creations Showcase for 2020! This week's colour is beautiful Just Jade from the 2020-2022 In Colors. I hope you'll join me in visiting each of the blogs of the talented Art With Heart Stampin' Team creators to see what they have done with this beautiful shade of green.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

I have just five days left to complete all my uni work and submit it for assessment - so even though I had big plans to make gorgeous creations with Just Jade, I had to settle for quick and simple, even though I love the colour AND there are SO many products available featuring Just Jade.

IMG_5901

So, for my quick and simple card, I selected the Just Jade card and envelope from the Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Cards & Envelopes. Then rather than adding layers of card, I stamped straight onto the card, masking the edges of the rectangle and stamping inside it.

I have used my favourite new stamp from the Dandy Garden Variety Bundle which will be available next January to June.

Dandy Garden Just Jade Stampin Up (5)

Then it was just a matter of adding a bit of embellishment.

Dandy Garden Just Jade Stampin Up (3)

The dragonfly and greeting are from the same stamp set, stamped in Just Jade on Shimmery White card stock.

Dandy Garden Just Jade Stampin Up (2)

The ribbon is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and the label die is from Ornate Frames Dies.

Dandy Garden Just Jade Stampin Up (4)

The Dandy Garden Variety Bundle includes the Dragonfly Punch. I stamped it with Just Jade, then used the black Stampin' Write marker to just darken the body a little.

This was a super quick card and it looks delightful in real life - I might have to make some more of those!

I hope you will click on this link to go to Cathy's blog and see what everyone else has created using the beautiful Just Jade!

See you soon!

AWH Colour Creations - Bumblebee

Hello!!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

It's week 6 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase and this week we are buzzing around like little Bumble Bees!

I haven’t purchased the Bumble Bee Ink Pad yet, but I had card stock AND I had 2 lots of Designer Series Papers that had plenty of Bumble Bee in the designs - the Flowers for Every Season DSP and the Ornate Garden DSP.

Four Season Floral Stampin' Up Bumblebee (2)

In the end I settled on Flowers for Every Season so it would coordinate with the Four Season Floral Stamp Set I wanted to use - and I kept the colour scheme VERY simple, just Bumble Bee and Whisper White with some black stamped images.

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

In light of the announcement of Stage 3 Covid19 restrictions that hit Melbourne at 4pm yesterday, I chose the Comfort and Hope stamp from the Comfort and Hope stamp set so that today I could post out three very timely cards for friends who I am particularly thinking of now that we are back in Stay at Home restrictions.

Four Season Floral Stampin' Up Bumblebee (1)

Why three? Well the design I have used - which was inspired by very cute Zebra cards by Emma Goddard lends itself to making 3 cards at once - as you cut each piece into 3 for the front panel.

Four Season Floral Stampin' Up Bumblebee (4)

I have used one die each from the Rectangle Stitched Dies and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut out the sentiment panel. The stamped roses from Four Season Floral are actually coloured with Stampin’ Blends - Daffodil Delight Dark & Light and Light Crumb Cake, and each of the coloured images are fussy cut with my Stampin’ Snips - they are very easy images to quickly cut out.

As usual, don't forget to stamp the inside! I keep it nice and simple!

Four Season Floral Stampin' Up Bumblebee (6)

The sentiment on the inside is also from the Comfort and Hope stamp set and reads "Sending you a paper hug".

Well, that's my creation for the week! If you would like to see what the other Art With Heart talented ladies have made with a Bumble Bee colour scheme, please pop over to Cathy's blog where you will find the list of creators.

Products I have used are listed below - click on them for more details, and I would love you to leave me a comment!

Thanks for checking in for week 6!

AWH Colour Creations - Bermuda Bay

Hi again!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Welcome to Week 3 of the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team - Colour Creations Showcase.

If you are just joining me, this week our creation divas are exploring one of my favourite Stampin' Up! colours - Bermuda Bay! We would love you to check out everyone's work and leave us some feedback in our comments.

If you would like to see all of our team's Bermuda Bay creations, go to gorgeous Cathy's blog here and get all the links there.

So let's take a look at Bermuda Bay!

In our 2020 January to June Handmade for You Mini Catalogue, our Birthday Bonanza product suite had one of the most gorgeous colour combinations. One of those colours has since retired, but is easily substituted to still give you a lovely rainbow of six beautiful shades to work with.

Stampin' Up! Classic Color Combo

www.katlodesigns.com

These colours sing to me of ocean reefs, fish and coral. So it's no wonder I pulled the stamp set Seaside Notions off my shelf.

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Seaside Notions (1)

For this card front I did something slightly different. I literally drowned the reverse side of the Thick Whisper White card stock with water and Bermuda Bay Ink from the Ink refill and let it soak through.

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Seaside Notions (6)

I love the new embossing folder - Seabed and I enjoyed stamping, watercolouring and fussy cutting these cute images. A bit of ribbon, some gems from the Holiday Rhinestones pack and half a dozen Stampin' Dimensionals are enough to make these cards pop with all the lovely textures.

For the next card, I removed the yellows and oranges and just stuck with the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana.

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Seaside Notions (3)

Again, that embossing folder is sublime!

I've stamped all the images with Bermuda Bay and just done a very light watercolour wash with Coastal Cabana over them.

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Seaside Notions (4)

Whilst Bermuda Bay is not exactly Santorini Blue, I couldn't help thinking of a bit of Mediterranean home decor with this colour scheme too. I have recently acquired Country Home stamp set - to do rustic vintage style cards - but I was suddenly picturing a Bermuda Bay jug full of bright blooms on a white washed stone windowsill . . .

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Country Home (1)

Thank you to my Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends who cruised the Greek Islands last year for all your inspiring photos!

Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Country Home (2)

In this card, I stamped the jug using Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Coastal Cabana card stock, then added shadows with Bermuda Bay ink. The jug is then cut by hand and popped up with a couple of Dimensionals.  I'm not sure why in this photo the flowers come out brilliant blue when on the card they are exactly the same colour as the jug - the joys of technology!

All of the products I have used for these three cards are shown below.

Please leave me a comment about which card is your favourite and why?

You can go to the next blog on the list lovely Christine's blog, by clicking here or  hop over to Cathy's blog to check out the rest of the Art With Heart Team's Bermuda Bay projects.

A Little Simple Stamping Blog Hop

Art With Heart Simple StampingThis week I am joining in on an Art With Heart Team blog hop showing you how simple stamping can be!

We are sharing creative projects featuring Simple Stamping, which means our projects feature only paper, stamps and ink. It’s a great way to create a quick and easy card for new stampers or for when you need a card at short notice. These projects highlight how Stampin’ Up! inks, paper and card stock co-ordinate perfectly.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue, or the Holiday Catalogue (we're ordering them now) contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

20190726_084845I've chosen To A Wild Rose stamp set - because if you are not fond of Colouring In, this stamp set does it for you!

Yes, this is a two step (or even a 3 step) stamp set which has outline stamps, and also more solid images to fill in the colour.

20190726_084812

For the first card I've stamped the outline of the rose in Merry Merlot ink, then stamped the "infill" stamps one with Rococo Rose and the second one with Merry Merlot, but stamped off on scrap paper first.  The leaf outlines were stamped with Pretty Peacock, then the infill stamp was also stamped with Pretty Peacock stamped off first.

This simple layer was then adhered to a Rococo Rose base card.

20190726_084824

For a slightly stepped up version of this card, I stamped the rose and leaf outlines with Momento Black ink, then the "infill" colours with Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot and Pretty Peacock. What lovely colour combinations!

I added an extra layer of card to this one with a fine border of Pretty Peacock under the white layer, before adhering to the Rococo Rose base. I hope you like them!
