Project Life Cards - As Cards

I adore the Stampin' Up! Project Life card collections - the colours and themes are so lovely - it's that same feeling like when you walk into a stationery store and you want to breathe in the smell and touch all those beautiful rainbows of pens and papers - there's nothing like that slightly musty "tons of paper and dusty old shelves" smell, and the excitement of seeing all those colours!

You know what I mean don't you? LOL

Card Collection (300x300)

My trouble is, I am not a BIG scrapbooker. Not that I don't want to, I've got tons of photos to scrapbook! It's just that I love cardmaking SO much, that I never prioritise my time to do the memory keeping!

However, that doesn't mean that I haven't collected squillions of the Project Life By Stampin' Up! (PLxSU!) kits! You know, those ones I am saving for that rainy day when I get around to printing all the photos and deciding to pop them in pockets in an album!

Anyway, recently I decided that I better do something about that and I pulled out a stack of tiny 2" x 2" PLxSU cards from the Hello December 2016 Project Life Accessory Pack and made them into cards!

Yes!!! I know!! Unbelievable right??

I teamed the cards with the Stitched with Cheer stamp set from the same Holiday Catalogue, and used our Notecards & Envelopes to quickly whip up about 15 cards in just a couple of hours! (I made a hash of one, so it's not in the photo - just in case you think I can't count).

I love how quick and easy these were, and a wonderful way to show off the gorgeous theme in the Project Life cards and the stamp set!

Hello December Card Collection (300x300)

If you have never sampled Stampin' Up! Project Life cards, the Hello December 2016 Collection is a great way to give it a try - much smaller set of cards, beautiful accessories - document your December, or do what I did and whip up some Christmas cards!

Memory Keeping - Stampin' Up! Style

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for November. Art with Heart Blog Hop Badge (250x250)

This month we are focusing on Memory Keeping (Scrapbooking/Project Life).

We all take photos right?

Well, capturing every day moments is so special and we need to document these to cherish. We are all passionate about memory keeping and we want to continue to inspire each other, and you, as we move forward in 2016!

Last weekend was our very first On Stage Event - a training and catalogue premier event hosted by Stampin' Up! It was a really fun, jam packed event where demonstrators got together in several locations around the globe and stamped, and got sneak peaks of our new catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure so we can start planning our 2016 classes and workshops.

We always take zillions of photos at our Stampin' Up! events, but I for one am very bad at scrapbooking them! This time around, I wanted to do something fast and easy, so I took the utterly gorgeous notebook we received at On Stage, and started "converting" it to a smash album.

On Stage Smash Book (1)

I started by attaching my name badge and ribbons on the inside front cover.

Then because Centre Stage (the Leadership dinner and training) was held on Friday evening before the main event, I popped in the Centre Stage invitation and a photo of the gorgeous table centrepiece. I have seen a photo on Facebook of my team member Julie and I at the event, which I will try to find again and print to pop on this page also.

Next was a photo of the Statement of the Heart which was set up on each table - I will print a much better photo to stick here - I didn't realise this one was so small and grainy! And the program and speakers for the day.

In my notes I had scribbled a list of team members names as they appeared at the event. I got a bit teary over this, as I had counted 10 coming and in the end there were 15 of us plus our two favourite adoptees. As is quite normal now (and fingers crossed will one day be fixed), we didn't get a full team photo before our lovely Margi had to leave to go to another function, which is so disappointing, but the days are always so busy and packed with activity and it's really hard to get a team photo at lunch time when people have headed off to find coffee etc, so unfortunately we didn't get all 17 of us in the photo, but it was the perfect page in my notebook to add the two photos.

I had several pages of notes and sketches so I won't show them here, but where there were gaps in the notes, I popped a few photos of things we saw at the event - projects on the displays, projects up on the big screen from the live streaming from Brussels, etc.

We had a terrific day with every team member receiving a Prize Patrol and a couple of All Attendee Give-Aways which made for some very happy stampers. It's one of the noisiest and most exciting parts of the day - seeing a fantastic presentation featuring a stack of projects made with brand new products, and then hearing that new stamp set is the next Prize Patrol - there's a drum roll and everyone has fingers crossed that their colour will come up on the screen!

  On Stage Smash Book (7)

I used one of our new stamp sets "ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS" to add a title and a bit of stamping to our Prize Patrol pages.

You'll notice another product I have used half to death in the making is our Project Life Corner Rounder Punch! What would I do without that!

There are several more pages to show you, including lots of photos of our make and take projects and displays, but you get the gist of how quick and easy it was to throw this memory album together, without having to buy a separate album or journal, and with just using the flyers/paperwork from the event and lots of fun photos.

I better let you go one with the blog hop now!

Memory Keeping

I am really, really bad at making time to scrapbook my photos and record all our treasured events and memories. I am years behind!

And I'm not talking about each year of a child's life or their schooling, I am talking about our wedding, and several overseas trips and a gorgeous Tasmanian holiday and working in the Kimberley, and my stamping journey - because while I have been a paper crafter forever, I have also been with Stampin' Up! for 8 years, so it's a pretty big part of who I am and what I do.

After the events of the past weekend - while we were attending a fantabulous Stampin' Up! training day and new catalogue sneak peak, news started to filter through about the terrorist attacks in Paris - and I got to thinking that it's more important than ever for us to keep our memories alive, celebrated and up to date and there has to be a faster and easier way to do it than the traditional scrapbooking - which looks amazing, but get's put off because everything has to be "Just so . . . "

Very timely this week as our regular monthly Blog Hop is all about Memory Keeping! Join me after 8am on Thursday morning to see what project I came up with to do some super quick, fun saving of my memories and to see what else my stamping friends have been working on.

Card Making Colour Challenge

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for October. This month we have a colour challenge for you.

AWHT Colour Challenge (450x180)

So, what did I come up with using those colours??

When I saw the colour selection, I immediately thought of our Project Life Card Collections ( #PLxSU ) and accessory packs.

And given that one of the colours is Mint Macaron which I wore to a recent family wedding, I decided I would (finally) have another play with the Project Life pockets and cards.

2015-10-14 17.11.17 (497x499)

I have used cards from three #PLxSU collections :

  • Moments Like These Card Collection and Accessory Pack
  • Hello Baby Boy Card Collection
  • Hello Baby Girl Card Collection

I have a confession . . . I think Pink Pirouette is a bit of an insipid colour - far too light to stamp with, so when I discovered the Project Life Hello Baby Girl Card Collection contained Blushing Bride instead of Pink Pirouette, the rebellious streak in me fist pumped the air and called "Yeah! Baby!!"

2015-10-14 17.11.27 (495x499)

I have embellished with extra flowers, hearts and stamps from Pictogram Punches and Hello Life stamp sets and I have used two of the #PLxSU stamp sets - Moments Like These and Hello Baby to stamp the wedding date.

As you can see from some of the pockets, they are a little empty - I would like to get a couple more photos printed and pop in just a couple more different snaps from the happy day to fill the spaces - I'm thinking the bouquets and some of the details of the reception.

2015-10-14 17.11.38 (497x499)

And you may have noticed on the first two pages, I also stamped onto the #PLxSU cards using our amazing Alphabet Rotary Stamp, so I could spell out the name of the venue and the bride and grooms names.

I just love how many cards there are to choose from in the Moments Like These, Hello Baby Boy and Hello Baby Girl PL card collections which contain Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder.

You could be wondering - Okay, where is the Blackberry Bliss??

All of the stamped headings, journalling and matting of a couple of the photos uses Blackberry Bliss. (Yes, I know, depending on what device you're on, it can look like Basic Black instead, but I reassure you, it's our lovely dark purple).

I just love these colours together.

Now, I must let you move on in the blog hop - but before I do, have you heard about the GREAT opportunity to earn more Stampin' products as a party hostess (or get a greater discount on your Stampin' Up! Starter Kit by putting your Stampin' Rewards $$ towards the starter kit) between 8th October to 9th November?

It's a great time to host a party/workshop or even a virtual party on Facebook. Contact me on 0418 361 931 to find out more.

And if you do decide to put your hostess Stampin' Rewards towards joining the Stampin' Up! family, you will love being part of our awesome Australia wide team. We are all about fun, friendship, inspiration and support.
