Heart of Christmas - Tis the Season

This week in the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop with the Art With Heart demonstrator team, I have a very simple card for you with a fun background technique.

HeaderHave you used the Stamparatus yet? It is seriously the best tool!!

Christmas to Remember Stampin' Up card (1)

I selected four separate greeting stamps from the Christmas to Remember stamp set and placed them rubber side down on my Very Vanilla card stock, on the bed of the Stamparatus. I closed the plate, making the cling stamps stick to it, then re-opened it, inked up all four stamps with Crumb Cake, then closed the plate again.

I then  moved the plate down two hinge notches on the Stamparatus base, and moved the card across, first stamping to the left, then stamping to the right, to give me a repeat but off-set pattern. I stamped four times in total to do my card background, stamping in Crumb Cake ink each time.

Christmas to Remember Stampin' Up card (2)

The background was layered onto a Cherry Cobbler card base, and then to finish the card, I simply added some stamped, die-cut holly and berries, and a greeting stamp. The holly & berries are also on the inside of the card.

I really love how simple and elegant this card is. It would be an easy one to churn out a bit of a production line for your Christmas mailing.

Heart of Christmas - Blessings of Christmas

Last week in the Art With Heart - Heart of Christmas blog hop, I showed this card, using a floral image stamp set instead of a Christmas stamp set.

IMG_0687

HeaderWhen I was making the first card, I also cut and coloured the other main image from the same stamp set. So this week, I have another card to show you, using the same colours and the same non-traditional stamp set, but a completely different card.

Blessings of Christmas Stampin Up (3)

I used the same Tea Boutique 6x6 Designer Series Paper, only I flipped it over and used the plainer reverse side. I used my Stampin' Blends to colour this image. I wasn't that pleased with the way the flowers turned out, so after they were thoroughly dry, I used my Blender Pen to add Sweet Sorbet Ink straight off the ink pad, to really strengthen the colour.

Blessings of Christmas Stampin Up (4)

The other main difference with this card, is I left out the vellum, but added layers with an extra piece of Tea Boutique DSP, large Evening Evergreen Label from the Seasonal Labels Dies, and the die-cut foliage was used as a subtle texture, rather then as a tool to add dark contrast.

Blessings of Christmas Stampin Up (1)

On the inside of this card, I included a leftover strip of the original DSP along the bottom of the inside. This DSP had featured under the vellum layer on the first card.

Heart of Christmas - Blessings of Home

This week for the Art With Heart - Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, I have selected a non-Christmas stamp set for the main image.HeaderI wanted to glance through my stash of stamp sets and check which other sets could be adapted to a Christmas theme, just by adding a Christmas greeting stamp, and selecting a Christmas colour palette.

I love how the Blessings of Home Bundle could be easily adapted for this, just by colouring it more traditional Christmas colours.

Blessings of Home Stampin Up Christmas Cards (1)

I stamped the main image on Shimmery White card stock then coloured with our Blender Pens, picking the ink up from the ink pad and lightly brushing it on until I got the depth of colour I required.

In this photo you can see the shimmer in the image from the card stock.

Blessings of Home Stampin Up Christmas Cards (2)

I die-cut this pieces and layered it with Dimensionals onto a layer of Vellum Cardstock, cut exactly the same size as the piece of Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper underneath.

This was layered onto Evening Evergreen card, which in turn was layered onto Soft Succulent. A few Pearl Basic Jewels were added for more glimmer, and a cut 3 pieces of foliage from Evening Evergreen card for more texture and to add a little more dark contrast to the card.

Blessings of Home Stampin Up Christmas Cards (3)

I stamped and coloured the other floral bouquet image in this stamp set too, so be sure to come back next week and see a second Christmas card using this same stamp set and colour scheme, but a completely different card!

In the meantime, I am off to hop around the other Art With Heart Blogs to see what the other Heart of Christmas ladies have created. I hope you will join me. Click on the box below to go to lovely Tina Gillespie's blog.

Heart of Christmas - Seasons of Christmas

Last week in the Heart of Christmas blog hop, I showed you two cards using the Seasons of Christmas bundle.

This week, I am using the very same set and colours, (actually I am using up all the leftover pieces from last week) but I have changed the backgrounds and rearranged the pieces completely.HeaderEach week until the end of Novermber, the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team demonstrators will show different ideas for making Christmas projects using Stampin' Up! products.

These are the sets I used last week, Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets, and the Seasonal Labels Dies.

I have made a basic tri-fold card - cutting the A4 card lengthwise at 14.85cm and scoring into three panels, with the card front and card back being 10.5cm, and the right hand panel which folds inside being approximately 9cm.

Evening Evergreen Seasons of Christmas Stampin' Up (1)

The front of the card is very simple. I have cut a window with the largest label die from the Seasonal Labels Dies, attached a greeting across the window, and some foliage just below the greeting.

The inside (right hand panel) has lots of the leftover pieces from last week arranged into a wreath, with some of the pieces popped up with Dimensionals, and others attached with Mini Glue Dots.

Evening Evergreen Seasons of Christmas Stampin' Up (2)

Here's another view with a close up of those pieces - hopefully you can see which ones are popped up.

Evening Evergreen Seasons of Christmas Stampin' Up (4)

I've used the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper for the background layer on this panel, and a slightly different pattern from the same pack on the inside panel where you would write your message.

Evening Evergreen Seasons of Christmas Stampin' Up (3)

I really love these traditional colours with these stamp sets, and I think that patterned paper suits it so well, rather than just white or cream inserts.

Evening Evergreen Seasons of Christmas Stampin' Up (5)

Heart of Christmas - Christmas in July

This year I moved up to the Victorian High Country, and it is my first year in a very long time when I am actually seeing REAL snow, in July. Today was probably our coldest day so far, and I had the wood heater chugging away all day.

I can really start to imagine what a northern Christmas might be like! So it seems appropriate to join in the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team, Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, in time for a snowy Christmas in July!Header

Because today had such wintery weather, I decided to go with very traditional  Christmas colours and images. I selected two stamp sets from our Annual Catalogue, which both share the same coordinating die set.

The Christmas Season stamp set and Christmas To Remember stamp set both contain images matching the Seasonal Labels Dies.

IMG_0081

Because I never do things by halves. I started by stamping and die-cutting a stack of the pine-cone and foliage images on Very Vanilla card. I used Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks.

I dry embossed card front size pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder, then gently inked the embossed piece with Versamark ink. I lightly applied gold embossing powder and heat set it, for a shiny gold vintage finish for the backgrounds.

IMG_0086

For the first card, I layered the musical background layer straight onto a Cherry Cobbler card-base, then played around with arranging the stamped and die-cut pinecone images.

IMG_0087

If most of my stamping stuff wasn't still in boxes from moving house, I probably would have added something shiny, like Champagne Rhinestone Jewels. Instead I have the gold embossing on the background and a piece of the lovely Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon across the card, to add a little sparkle.

My second card had extra layers.

IMG_0085

I cut the music background slightly smaller, and layered it on an angle on Evening Evergreen card, which I then layered onto Very Vanilla, before layering that onto a Cherry Cobbler base-card.

IMG_0088

I've used the same luxurious gold ribbon to wrap around the top layer. I also decorated the inside of both cards, and realise that I have completely forgotten to photograph the insides!

Colour Creations Showcase - Mossy Meadow

Hi there, it's Kathryn here!

How's your run into Christmas going after this crazy year we've been having?

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Week 29 and our last Colour Creations Showcase for 2020 includes a beautiful Christmas Colour, so I had every intention from the start to make this week's card an inspiring Christmas card using this versatile staple colour - Mossy Meadow.

I have been making lots of bright cheery Real Red and Garden Green cards with bold images using the Tag Buffet Project kit, so when I pulled out Mossy Meadow card stock and ink pad, I decided I wanted a more elegant and toned down card.

I am also in the process of using up all of last year's Christmas products and that includes the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley which is still available.. My card is actually a new version of some I did last year which were inspired by Linda Dalke.

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley Stampin' Up! Christmas card focussing on Mossy Meadow for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase

The lovely pine tree stamp comes from the Most Wonderful Time stamp set and is stamped with 2nd and 3rd generation stamping (ie, keep stamping without reinking to get the depth of the forest).

The deer is a printed die-cut piece from the Product Medley popped up on dimensionals, and the greeting stamp is from Perfectly Plaid stamp set stamped with Soft Suede ink.

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley Stampin' Up! Christmas card focussing on Mossy Meadow for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase

The Crumb Cake panel is layered onto Mossy Meadow using Dimensionals, then this is layered onto Whisper White which is layered onto the Mossy Meadow Base Card.

The inside is decorated in a similar manner.

I loved using the deer die-cuts from the kit, I could never stamp them with such a beautiful subtle colour!

Well, if you would like to see how our other creative friends have used Mossy Meadow, please hop over to Cathy's blog where she has all the links. Don't forget to leave a comment - we love to hear what you think!

See you again on 6th of January for Night of Navy.

Art With Heart Colour Creations - Cherry Cobbler

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Week 9 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase is a favourite colour for lots of people!

I grew up thinking of Christmas Red as the same fire engine red of Santa's suit. In Stampin' Up! terms this would be Real Red and it was certainly the first red ink pad I purchased from Stampin' Up! But then a few years later, along came Cherry Cobbler - now this is a red that makes any shade of green into a traditional Christmas palette.

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

Just about every year for the last 13 years since I joined Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator, I have been running a Christmas in July event. That couldn't happen this year with our Stage 3 Lockdown here in Melbourne, but I can't let July go by without doing something Christmassy, and especially since it's Cherry Cobbler week!

Dove of Hope Stampin' Up! cards (2)

Are you excited about the new Aug-Dec Catalogue coming out late next week?  I am!! These two cards feature 4 new products that will be in the catalogue - Christmas ones of course!

Dove of Hope Stampin' Up! cards (1)

The cards feature the Dove of Hope Bundle and include 2 other products from the Wonder of the Season Suite : 'Tis the Season Designer Series paper which if full of traditional Christmas colours and designs, and Wonder of the Season Cards and Envelopes which have beautiful red foil accents.

Dove of Hope Stampin' Up! cards (4)

For the first card, I cut a window in the card front using a scallop rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

IMG_4372

I used a Cherry Cobbler card base with the DSP adhered to it then adhered the "frame" using the Foam Adhesive Strips to pop it up a bit higher. The dove was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Dove of Hope Stampin' Up! cards (5)

For the second card I used up the stitched rectangle which I had cut out of the front of the first card, and the leftover strip of DSP as the basis of a new design.  I embossed some Whisper White with the utterly gorgeous Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder - thank you to all my enabler demonstrator friends who "MADE" me buy it!

And I arranged the dove's wings slightly differently - Oh boy! I love how they work both ways!

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your cards!

Dove of Hope Stampin' Up! cards (3)

The Designer Series paper is in a pack of 48 - 24 different double sided designs with a good mix of traditional Christmas images but also patterns that could be used for masculine or other occasions cards!

AWH Colour Creations - Calypso Coral

Welcome again for another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations Showcase. Each week some talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators for Claire Daly's team are show casing a colour out of the Stampin' Up! range. We are working our way through the alphabet and this is week 8, so if you haven't seen our colour showcase before, be sure to hit the home button at the top of the page and scroll down through my blog to see each week's showcase.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Week Eight of Colour Creations Showcase brings us Calypso Coral and I have created a colour suggestion chart for you based on the colours in the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

Calypso Coral is not actually one of the colours in the paper, but it works beautifully with Terracotta Tile and is a great contrasting colour for the greens in the paper.

I am SO excited to show you what I made with Calypso Coral and the Ornate Garden paper. I selected a Christmas stamp set from our August-December Mini Catalogue (starting in a couple of weeks) and I made some NON-Christmas cards that are perfect timing for our miserable Round #2 Stage 3 Wear Your Mask Everywhere Covid19 Lockdown.

Gnome for the Holidays Stampin Up Cards

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! How CUTE are those Gnomes?  I LOVE them!

The stamp set is called Gnome For The Holidays and is an 8 piece Cling Rubber stamp set.

When I stamped the images I used some Washi tape to mask off the particularly Christmas bits, and I added the tiny flower from the Special Someone stamp set as it was a perfect fit for their little hands.

Gnome for the Holidays Stampin Up Cards 1 (3)

Gnome for the Holidays Stampin Up Cards 1 (1)

I've used the Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends for most of the colouring on the images - along with Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Old Olive, and Calypso Coral Cardstock for the scallop layer under each image, as well as two of the base cards.

Gnome for the Holidays Stampin Up Cards 1 (4)

Gnome for the Holidays Stampin Up Cards 1 (2)

These ones are definitely going out in the mail to cheer up someone stuck at home in miserable wintery Melbourne.

Most of the products I've used are shown below (except the Gnome stamp set which is not available until August).

If you'd like to see the rest of the Calypso Coral Creations this week, here is the link to Cathy's blog . You will find all of the links to the other artists there.

I would love you to leave a comment by going to the comments tab right at the bottom of this post - I love reading what you think!
