I was absolutely delighted that the self-contained Lots Of Happy Card Kit carried over into our Annual Catalogue this year, along with it's refill kit.
It truly is one of the most gorgeous card kits I have ever seen. And even though it comes with it's own beautiful Watercolour pencils in the kit, I just love, love, love that it can also be coloured with our Stampin' Blends - the alcohol markers.
The kit contains sheets of pre-printed, die-cut images ready for colouring, either with the pencils in the kit, or with your own favourite colouring tools.
I started with the dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend, then moved onto the lighter one. Here's a look at how I colour.
Step 1. Add a touch of the darkest colour into the corners of the image.
Step 2. Blend in the lighter colour to the dark.
Step 3. Keep going until you've coloured the whole sheet - or need to stop for coffee (or wine) . . .
Step 4. Change colours and start doing the flowers and berries! (okay, so maybe don't have wine . . . LOL).
Step 5. Just keep colouring, just keep colouring, just keep colouring!
It's amazing the variety you can create with just 7 of the Stampin' Blends.
Step 6. Get SERIOUS and change the colours up!
Step 7. Stand back and admire your colouring!
Step 8. Now it's time to pop them out of the sheet and assemble a stack of beautiful cards!
Oh! and don't you just LOVE the lined envelopes and vellum leaves that come with the kit too?
You know you need this kit (and a refill) to start colouring right now, don't you?
Click on any of the thmbnails below to order today - or come and see me at the kiosk at Chirnside Park Shopping Centre tomorrow to see the finished cards and the Stampin' Blends in person!
During late November, some of my lovely Stampin' Up! team members and I were at the Stampin' Up! stand at the Melbourne Stitches and Craft Show.
We love meeting people at the Craft Shows - and the Royal Exhibition Building is something super special - except for the fact that the weather was like this week and that dear old building doesn't have Air Conditioning!! Boy was it hot!!

I adore the Stampin' Up! Project Life card collections - the colours and themes are so lovely - it's that same feeling like when you walk into a stationery store and you want to breathe in the smell and touch all those beautiful rainbows of pens and papers - there's nothing like that slightly musty "tons of paper and dusty old shelves" smell, and the excitement of seeing all those colours!
You know what I mean don't you? LOL
My trouble is, I am not a BIG scrapbooker. Not that I don't want to, I've got tons of photos to scrapbook! It's just that I love cardmaking SO much, that I never prioritise my time to do the memory keeping!
However, that doesn't mean that I haven't collected squillions of the Project Life By Stampin' Up! (PLxSU!) kits! You know, those ones I am saving for that rainy day when I get around to printing all the photos and deciding to pop them in pockets in an album!
Anyway, recently I decided that I better do something about that and I pulled out a stack of tiny 2" x 2" PLxSU cards from the Hello December 2016 Project Life Accessory Pack and made them into cards!
Yes!!! I know!! Unbelievable right??
I teamed the cards with the Stitched with Cheer stamp set from the same Holiday Catalogue, and used our Notecards & Envelopes to quickly whip up about 15 cards in just a couple of hours! (I made a hash of one, so it's not in the photo - just in case you think I can't count).
I love how quick and easy these were, and a wonderful way to show off the gorgeous theme in the Project Life cards and the stamp set!
If you have never sampled Stampin' Up! Project Life cards, the Hello December 2016 Collection is a great way to give it a try - much smaller set of cards, beautiful accessories - document your December, or do what I did and whip up some Christmas cards!
World Card Making Day really snuck up on us this year, particularly being on the same day as the AFL grand final. We are not huge footy fans in our house, but when a team sneaks into the top eight, who hasn't won a Grand Final since 1954, and they get through all the finals, and you live in Melbourne and your husband's step-father is a big Doggie's fan, you've kind of got to get involved!
So World Card Making Day came and went . . . And the Doggies won the Grand Final in a very exciting close game!
However, the awesome surprise promotion that Stampin' Up! put on for World Card Making Day wasn't limited to Saturday, it actually runs for 5 days and so it is still on until 11.59pm tomorrow (Wednesday).
There are only a few items on the sale, but they are ALL awesome! And I just wanted to point a couple of them out and see if I can't entice you!
First is the Designer Tin Of Cards Kit. - watch this Watch Now
This is a brilliant kit, containing all the materials for 16 completed cards - 4 each of 4 designs. I love this kit so much that I am willing to offer a free class voucher (for assembling the kit) to anyone who purchases it while the promotion is still running. We will organise a date and get together to make up the cards in the kit.
The kit is normally $47.00 but during the promotion it is just $35.25 which works out at just over $2.20 per card.
There is also a separate 33 piece photo-polymer stamp set which co-ordinates with the kit. The very versatile stamp set is just $45.00 and would be very useful for a whole heap of other cards, not just for assembling the kit.
Also in the World Card Making Day special is Fast Fuse Tape with a free refill.
If you've been stamping with me lately, you'll have seen that this is now my GO TO adhesive.
Now that I've worked out how to use it, I love it's super sticking power and I think it's fantastic that the refill is 20m instead of just 12m like the original and the Snail and Snail Refill.
The Fast Fuse is normally $13, and the refill is $11. During the special, order a Fast Fuse and get a refill free! How awesome is that??
Actually, I'm so in love with this kit and the Fast Fuse that not only will I offer a free class to anyone ordering the kit, if you order all three items (Designer Tin of Cards, Tin of Cards Stamp Set AND Fast Fuse - with free refill), I will give you free postage AND a Stampin' Up! photopolymer Angel Policy Stamp from the "Better Than Email" Stamp Set to stamp the backs of your cards with. Total cost is $93.25, postage is normally $5.95 and the Angel Policy stamp is worth $2.33.
If you message me (via Facebook - www.facebook.com/katlodesigns ) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that you would like to take up the offer, and can phone me with your credit card details during the day tomorrow, then I will make sure these items are delivered to your door with free postage!
But, I need to hear from you and confirm your credit card details before the sale ends tomorrow - and given that we normally go to bed relatively early, don't ring me after 9pm!
Don't forget - Buy the Kit, get a voucher for a free class where we can all sit and assemble our kits, using my extra supplies.
Buy the Kit, Stamp Set and Fast Fuse with free refill and get free postage and an extra "Copyright" stamp for stamping the backs of your cards.
We had such a busy, lovely day on the Stampin' Up! stand today at the Caulfield Stitches and Craft Show.
The show is on until Sunday and I am back on the stand all day Saturday.
We are running our Christmas card class again this year, at 1pm. Make 4 cards, 2 each of 2 designs, in a fast-paced 50 minute class. Just $20, all materials and tools supplied.
Book at the stand when you arrive at the show.
I won't be at Caulfield tomorrow because it's our normal day back on the Yarra Valley Experiences kiosk at Chirnside Park Shopping Centre tomorrow.
I hope you can visit me and the team on one of these days!
Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for October. This month we have a colour challenge for you.
So, what did I come up with using those colours??
When I saw the colour selection, I immediately thought of our Project Life Card Collections ( #PLxSU ) and accessory packs.
And given that one of the colours is Mint Macaron which I wore to a recent family wedding, I decided I would (finally) have another play with the Project Life pockets and cards.
I have used cards from three #PLxSU collections :
Moments Like These Card Collection and Accessory Pack
Hello Baby Boy Card Collection
Hello Baby Girl Card Collection
I have a confession . . . I think Pink Pirouette is a bit of an insipid colour - far too light to stamp with, so when I discovered the Project Life Hello Baby Girl Card Collection contained Blushing Bride instead of Pink Pirouette, the rebellious streak in me fist pumped the air and called "Yeah! Baby!!"
I have embellished with extra flowers, hearts and stamps from Pictogram Punches and Hello Life stamp sets and I have used two of the #PLxSU stamp sets - Moments Like These and Hello Baby to stamp the wedding date.
As you can see from some of the pockets, they are a little empty - I would like to get a couple more photos printed and pop in just a couple more different snaps from the happy day to fill the spaces - I'm thinking the bouquets and some of the details of the reception.
And you may have noticed on the first two pages, I also stamped onto the #PLxSU cards using our amazing Alphabet Rotary Stamp, so I could spell out the name of the venue and the bride and grooms names.
I just love how many cards there are to choose from in the Moments Like These, Hello Baby Boy and Hello Baby Girl PL card collections which contain Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder.
You could be wondering - Okay, where is the Blackberry Bliss??
All of the stamped headings, journalling and matting of a couple of the photos uses Blackberry Bliss. (Yes, I know, depending on what device you're on, it can look like Basic Black instead, but I reassure you, it's our lovely dark purple).
I just love these colours together.
Now, I must let you move on in the blog hop - but before I do, have you heard about the GREAT opportunity to earn more Stampin' products as a party hostess (or get a greater discount on your Stampin' Up! A Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team
How did you enjoy the ESAD Blog Hop earlier this week? So many fabulous ideas, and all so totally different, that today I am doing it all again with some of the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team girls.
When new catalogues come out, one thing Stampin' Up! demonstrators LOVE to do is participate in card swaps so we can share all sorts of ideas and inspiration with each other. It's a great way to get lots of samples of finished cards, without having to buy all the stamp sets in the catalogue.
If that interests you, you should seriously consider joining Stampin' Up! on an active team like ours where you not only meet awesome stamping friends, but you get lots of opportunities to stamp with them and share your creativity. Ask one of us today (after you've done a full lap of the blog hop!).
Today for my post, I want to show you two different cards I made, with the same stamp set, for two different card swaps.
The Stamp set is from the Sparkly Season Bundle
As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew it was going to have to join my collection as I just love the nutcracker stamp - reminds me of the beautiful collection my favourite auntie used to bring out each Christmas to decorate her house.
I stamped the Nutcracker on the new Thick Whisper White card and water-coloured it using the aquapainter with Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, and Garden Green ink pads and then some tiny touches of extra shading with the Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Smoky Slate markers.
Yes, I had to make 12 cards for the swap . . .
For the other card swap, I chose to use the ballerina stamp from the same bundle of products.
This one is also water-coloured, but because she is such a tiny image, I decided to step her up into a shaker card, and I chose to use several bits out of the To You and Yours Shaker Card Kit- this is such an awesome kit with so many bits and pieces in it!
Here's a close up of some of the gorgeous sparkly sequins from the kit, surrounding the tiny dancer. So cute!
Plenty of other bits and pieces to use in the Shaker Card Kit, and plenty more stamps in the Sparkly Season stamp set that I haven't used yet!
Well, if you arrived from Jenny's blog, then it's time to let you continue on the blog hop. If you are just joining us here, click the Next button at the bottom of each post to travel through the blog hop. We hope you are inspired to get creating with the new Holiday Catalogue.
Welcome to another Art With Heart team blog hop. You may have come here from Kayleen's blog, or you may be starting here - either way, welcome.
Did you know there are just 13 days left to purchase stamp sets and accessories from the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and the 2015 Occasions Mini Catalogue?
Many products that are not carrying over into the new catalogue have been reduced in price and quite a few are sold out already. Today we are focussing on these retiring products because among them are some real favourites, and if you had them on your wishlist, we don't want you to get two weeks down the track and realise you have missed out on them as they are no longer available.
What products have I chosen to take a trip down Memory Lane with today?
Yep, that's the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set from page 70 of the current catalogue, available in Wood Mount or Clear Mount.
And I've teamed it with a stack of left over pieces from one of our very popular kits this past year.
Yep, that's our Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit. Enough pieces to make 20 cards. AND a fantastic stamp set included in the set. Have you ever taken close notice?
If you haven't really noticed it, I have to confess to you right now, that I thought this whole kit was worth buying, solely for the stamp set - it's one of the best greeting sets we've had this past year.
And do you know about the Angel Policy? If you are selling any handmade cards with stamped images, you must acknowledge the copyright of the company the image came from, so in the case of Stampin' Up!, if you are selling cards made with Stampin' Up! stamps, on the back of the card you must have the Stampin' Up! copyright.
What I totally love about the stamp set in this card kit is it provides a stamp with the copyright image on it! Love that! and it's a cute stamp too!
So, what have been making with the leftover pieces out of my Everyday Occasions kit, and how did I match them up with Daydream Medallions stamp set?
Well, I decided to finally scrapbook some more of my wedding photos! (Yes, miracles do happen!).
You can see that I chose two main colours from the kit - Island Indigo and Baked Brown Sugar and mixed and matched them as base sheets. Then I used some of the card bases out of the kit for the main layer on my layouts.
I picked out Pool Party, Baked Brown Sugar, Island Indigo, Whisper White and shiny silver Glimmer Paper die cuts from the kit to add as headings, journalling tabs and embellishments, and I stamped Daydream Medallions in Crumb Cake and Whisper White to break up the background.
Most of these layouts have hidden journalling in the form of a pull out tab behind the photo.
Did you notice on some of them I have used the stamp "Love" also from the kit, and on the layout with my brother, on the label at the top left, I inked up just the "L" so I had the same font, but hand wrote the rest of the word so I had Laugh.
If you are wondering about the titles - that's Epic Alphabet stamp set - a photopolymer stamp set that is carrying over (yippee!!!). That was a lot of fun to use!.
Alright! Have I inspired you to get in touch with your regular demonstrator and order the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit or the Daydream Medallions stamp set before the 2nd of June? Go and talk to her right now because all the retiring items are only available while stocks last.
Back to the Blog Hop - who are you visiting next? That would be the gorgeous, Jenny Van Dijk.
