AWH Colour Creations - Summer Splash

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2024-2025 Colour Creations Blog Hop where the Art With Heart stamping team explore all the colours in the Stampin' Up! colour families week by week.    AWH Blog Header
This week is the last of our FIVE new In Colors. We have played with Peach Pie and Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink and Shy Shamrock, and this week we introduce lovely SUMMER SPLASH.

This week I wanted to use products in my collection that haven't seen the light of day yet, and that included the Coffee With Friends stamp set. I turned to page 92 of the catalogue to see what inspiration lay there.

    Stampin Up Coffee With Friends

And I thought . . . WOW! I could just recreate this whole page layout in Summer Splash! And so I did! With a few variations on stamp sets mind, because believe it or not, I don't own ALL of them :)      Summer Splash Stampin Up cards

Mostly, these are very simple cards. A Thick Basic White card base, a layer of Basic White for extra layers and scrap pieces for greeting tags. The first one features Coffee With Friends stamp set stamped with Basic Grey Ink on Thick Basic White, coloured using a blender pen and ink from the Summer Splash and Early Espresso ink pads.

I found it quite difficult to photograph the cards this week. My iphone11 has a tendency to turn everything a shade of blue, and so lovely Summer Splash which is very green, kept coming up sky blue in my photos. In this image, the greeting label is Pretty In Pink - which shows you the colour variation.

My second card used the Leaf Collection background stamp to recreate the Designer Series Paper look which was in the catalogue image.     Summer Splash Stampin Up Leaf Collection

The "yellow" tab underneath is actually Peach Pie - a slightly pale orange colour (eyeroll!!!). The lovely birthday greeting comes from Simply Said stamp set.

And finally, for the third card in the catalogue page recreation, I switched to Spotlight on Nature stamp set - AND I was far too lazy to go looking for White Heat Embossing Powder, so I stamped with Basic Grey instead and added a banner for the greeting.        Summer Splash Spotlight on Nature card

All the cards included 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems to bling them up. I love these shiny, sparkly embellishments in the five gorgeous In Colors and have nearly used a whole packet in just a couple of months.

AWH Colour Creations - Shy Shamrock

Welcome back to week 4 of the Art With Heart team Colour Creations Blog Hop.
AWH Blog Header

This week we focus on Shy Shamrock - which is anything but shy!

To soften this strong colour, I decided to make a white-on-white card, where Shy Shamrock is still the hero of the card, but in a gentle way, not in your face.

    Shy Shamrock Colour Creations card
I die-cut some scraps of the Shy Shamrock paper from the 2024-2026 In Color Designer Series Paper using Stylish Shapes dies. These were layered under a Basic White piece cut with the Deckled Rectangle dies and embossed with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder. The Stylish Shapes pieces create just a small pop of colour and highlight the cute designs on the patterned paper.    Shy Shamrock Colour Creations
The floral image is not stamped or die-cut. It is one of the pieces from Fully Flowering Ephemera pack - a new product on page 19 of our catalogue. There are four ephemera packs to choose from. I’ve mounted it with Dimensionals, tied some white bakers twine and layered the greeting - stamped in Shy Shamrock - to tie the pieces together. The greeting is from Simply Said stamp set which is also on page 19.

Now, if you are ready, please click on the image below to hop over to the lovely Kate Morgan's blog, to continue discovering how we have created with Shy Shamrock. I always really look forward to seeing what Kate has made!

ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop 2024

Yippee!! Today I am blogging with a few of my OTHER stamping friends, and together we are exploring the new 2024-2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, that just came out this month - MAY 2024.   If you have come to my blog from Denise Buetler's blog, thank you for hopping over!    ESAD Header
Our Stampin' Up! annual convention is called On Stage, and this year we gathered in Melbourne in March. It is always so GOOD to see some of these long time stamping friends face to face - I haven't seen many of these ladies since before Covid, so it was extra special.

One of the treats of On Stage is to get a sneak peek of our new catalogue, and I think every single one of us fell in love with the Take To The Sky Suite and the fantastic demonstration we saw.

I had a big workshop this weekend with up to 12 participants, so I wanted to make a card which showed off the product suite, but was also easy enough for that many people to make in about an hour. So I chose a very simple easel card, and I precut several of the pieces using my die-cutting machine and paper trimmer.

Take to the sky easel card c
So then the participants just had to do some simple stamping, die-cut a couple of pieces themselves and assemble the card, with a little bit of assistance where needed - mainly cleaning stamps and handing out Stampin' Dimensionals.

Take to the sky easel card a
I really enjoyed using these products - they coordinate so well that it's easy to create a good looking card.  Because there were so many attendees in my workshop, there were three different sheets of the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper for the card fronts. Each one of them worked well because of the coordinating designs and colours.

I hardly ever make masculine cards, but I really enjoyed using these products, and I can't wait to find time to make some more different variations of this project.

Now it's time for you to go and see what else the talented ESAD card makers have created. The NEXT button to follow the blog hop journey is down below - but before you go there, just in case you are wondering what ESAD even is . . . . . :

And now, click on this pointing NEXT image to hop around the ESAD blogs and see what other goodies are in the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. This button will take you to gorgeous Nicole's blog who is also coordinating our blog hop.

I'll see you again soon - preferably with inky fingers!!

AWH Colour Creations - Pretty in Pink

Welcome back to week 3 of a new round of Blog Hopping with the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team.AWH Blog Header

This week's feature colour is a surprise return! Pretty In Pink was in our Subtles Colour Family for a long time - long ago, and it is making a very welcome come-back as a 2024-2026 In Color.

The timing is perfect for me, because last week one of my workmates welcomed a gorgeous baby girl into their family, so it was a perfect excuse to get out ALL the pinks and make a baby girl card . . .

Ohhhhh! Except in my head, I pictured a card using the Zany Zoo stamp set, and when I went looking in the online shop for it . . . .IT'S GONE!!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

What am I going to do now?? I quickly flipped through my catalogue and remembered that the ugly duckling paper - AKA Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper (which I received free at On Stage) has Pretty in Pink in the colour scheme.

  Lily Pond Lane
The Lily Pond Lane Product Suite is on pages 44-45 of the new catalogue, and I straight away noticed the sample project with the two fussy cut goldfish. It's a cello gift bag full of fishy shaped treats with a bag topper and swing label. I love that it uses the goldfish from the DSP so I decided to case it for a card instead of a treat bag.

IMG_5264

I went with the most simple easel card fold, and since I don't have any other products in the Suite, I made the most of the designs in the packet of DSP. I fussy cut all the detailed pieces including goldfish and waterlilies.

Lily Pond Lane easel card (3)
The greeting is from Layers of Beauty stamp set, stamped in Pretty Peacock ink, and I used the Countryside Corners and Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut the layers of Designer Series Papers.

Lily Pond Lane easel card (4)
All of the smaller bits and bobs are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, and I added some Sparkly In Color gems for a bit of bling - not so easy to photograph!

AWH Colour Creations - Petunia Pop

It's week 2 of our 2024-2025 Round of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart stamping team.

  AWH Blog Header

This week we have a beautiful dark pink with a leaning towards purple - a cool pink rather than a warm toned reddish pink, with the wonderful happy name of Petunia Pop.

I embraced this colour at our Stampin' Up! On Stage (convention) After Dark stamping class, making two cards on the night, and I loved the colour combination so much, I decided to use them as inspiration for this weeks project.

Here are the cards I made at On Stage in MarchAfter Dark Stamping On Stage cards
And here is the colour combination.

I just love the floral images with these colours, especially the little snippets of rose bouquets stamped in Petunia Pop ink on Petunia Pop card. Here's a close up of that first card :Country Flowers Petunia Pop card detail

So when it came to creating this week's project, I chose all the same colours and I selected the Layers of Beauty bundle from page 57 of our new catalogue, because I felt I MUST have roses, and I wanted to have a play with those lovely new Decorative Masks.    Layers of Beauty Petunia Pop Z-fold card d
This week I made a fairly simple basic Z-fold card, with a large die cut on the front.

Layers of Beauty Petunia Pop Z-fold card b

My layers were made using paper from the 2024-2026 In Colour 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment, which gave me Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink and Peach Pie horizontal stripes, inspired by the card on page 57  of the catalogue with the Old Olive stripes.    Layers of Beauty Petunia Pop Z-fold card detail
The large rose image was stamped in Petunia Pop Ink, then I used Blending Brushes to apply Petunia Pop and Granny Apple Green inks only, for all 5 layers of colour on the rose image.

The image was then die-cut and mounted on the card front with Dimensionals.

Layers of Beauty Petunia Pop Z-fold card a
Finally, half a dozen of the 2024-2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems (page 114-115) were added to give a touch of bling.

Thanks for stopping by. Time to see what the other talented Art With Heart SU demonstrators have been creating. Click the image below to be taken to lovely Theresa Gerrard's blog for the next Petunia Pop project.AWH Next

AWH Colour Creations - Peach Pie

New 2024-2025 Stampin' Up! Catalogue, means new In Colours

Welcome to a whole new Stampin' Up! catalogue year, and Week 1 of the 2024-2025 Colour Creations Blog Hop, which means, we are starting with new In Colours!

AWH Blog Header

Our first showcase colour for this catalogue is Peach Pie, which is kind of fitting because I have been harvesting, harvesting, harvesting all summer and autumn and the pantry and freezers are full of stewed fruits, jams and sauces. So having Peach Pie as the first colour for the years worth of blog hops is a great segway into slowing down the outdoor harvest activities and spending more time indoors - hopefully crafting!

In order for me to jump back into blog hopping after a LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGG break, I decided to keep it really simple this week, and use up the pieces I stamped at our After Dark Stamping Night at our wonderful On Stage Conference in March. The evening was ALL about making some cards with new colours, and this card is inspired by the Country Flowers - Sketch 2 that was in our instruction sheets.

Cottage Garden Peach Pie Sample card
Above is the sample from the instructions and below is my version. You can see I chose to use Spotlight on Nature stamp set instead of Country Flowers. And I stepped it up a little by adding an extra layer of Pecan Pie to the base, and giving it a vintage feel by kissing all the edges with ink and roughing them with my finger nail.

Peach Pie Spotlight on Nature Card
I would never think to pair Peach Pie with Pecan Pie cardstock (although it does sound a bit lip-smackingly good!!).  I do love how the tulip image becomes a strong focal point with the contrasting darkness of the stamped image on the Basic White panel.

Peach Pie Spotlight on Nature Card detail

The tulips are coloured using the Water Painters, picking up a touch of ink from the Classic Ink Pads. Flowers in Peach Pie, and leaves in Lemon Lime Twist. I switched up the green from the sample for this warmer shade as I feel it sits better with the two other warm colours.

Peach Pie Spotlight on Nature Card detail 2

The greeting is from the Simply Zinnia Stamp set which is in the Online Exclusives. I chose a longer greeting and extra twine to just go that little bit extra. The greeting is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on Basic White with a thin sliver of Lemon Lime Twist card underneath, and mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals. I hand cut the flag ends with Stampin' Snips.

Now it's time for you to go and see what the other talented Art With Heart Team stampers have been creating with Peach Pie. Click on the image below to go to lovely Theresa Gerrard's blog in the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop.
