AWH Colour Creations - Lemon Lolly

This week the Art With Heart team are exploring creativity with Lemon Lolly - a brand new, gorgeous pale yellow in our Core Colour Range. Welcome to our Colour Creations blog hop.

I don't know about you, but I have been wanting a lovely fresh, clean, pale yellow, ever since I joined Stampin' Up! in 2007. My dream finally came true with this year's colour refresh and I am so glad this new colour is in our Core Colour families, not just in the In Colours.

This week's project from me, is inspired by a great Zoom video I watched last week on a Stampin' Up! run demonstrator only Facebook group, where Stampin' Up! staff and many demonstrators share heaps of creativity and inspiration for everyone in the SU family.

Lemon Lolly Bright & Beautiful Cards 3

The Zoom video featured an Australian demo - Jacinta Ryan, showing a 6"x 6" one sheet wonder project making four cards from one sheet of 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper and some card bases.

Here are Jacinta's projects featuring Pretty Peacock cardstock.

Lemon Lolly One Sheet Wonder cards

It was a terrific project, and her demonstration was so clearly done, that I was able to cut my own piece of DSP while I watched. And I deliberately chose DSP that had Lemon Lolly in it, so I could make projects for this week.

Lemon Lolly Bright & Beautiful Cards 1

I used Lemon Lolly for the card base, and also cut a card front layer from Lemon Lolly which I then embossed for some extra layering and texture.

I cut the one sheet wonder template from Bright & Beautiful 6"x 6" DSP and mounted the pieces on Blueberry Bushel card stock to make them pop from the yellow.

Lemon Lolly Bright & Beautiful Card 2

On two of the cards I used Boho Blue Ribbon, and on the other two I used the gorgeous Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo pack which is on pages 46-47 and also on page 144 of our annual catalogue - it's gorgeous ribbon!

I also used two different embossing folders. On two cards I used Merry Melody 3D folder, and on the other two cards I used Painted Texture 3D folder.

Lemon Lolly Bright & Beautiful Card 4

I made liberal use of the Adhesive Backed Solid Gems on each of the cards, and popped all of the layers up with Dimensionals.
