Colour Creations - Soft Suede

This is our very last week of Colour Creations for the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue, and this week we have a colour that I am VERY SAD!!! to see retiring out of our collection.

HeaderThis week, the Art With Heart blog hoppers say a very fond farewell to Soft Suede.

Soft Suede is a warm, soft brown, and I have used so many packets of it, and I even have two Soft Suede ink pads!

This past week or so, there has been a heck of a lot of stuff going on in my extended family, as well as it being garlic planting time, so I only had time to make a very simple card. I chose to use Soft Suede as my base card, to show you what a wonderful, warm, versatile colour it is.

More often than not, I would choose to use a white base card with the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper, but I think in this case, the Soft Suede really enhances the casual country feel of the card.

While Soft Suede and the Country Floral Designer Series Papers are retiring with the 2022-2023 catalogue, the Country Bouquet stamp set and co-ordinating punch are carrying over into the new catalogue, which makes my heart very happy!

Anyway - if you are on the blog hop, it's now time to go and visit the blog of my dear friend Tina Gillespie, so click the NEXT box below and you will be taken to her blog.

Colour Creations - Soft Succulent

The Art With Heart team creators are bringing you another beautiful colour tonight in our colour creations blog hop.

HeaderThis week, we give a final salute to one of our much loved 2021-2023 In Colours - Soft Succulent. It is a real favourite with many people.

If you turn to page 179 in your current catalogue - the one which finishes in a couple of weeks - you will see a green card with the two chairs with cat images from the Stampin' Rewards stamp set SIT STAY RELAX. I used this card as inspiration for my projects tonight. I switched the greens up to Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, and swapped the cardstock circles for very pretty Designer Series Paper circles.

Soft Succulent Sit Stay Relax1

The first card uses a rectangle card front of gold foiled pattern from the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the chair image with Soft Succulent, and used Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight watercolour pencils to add a little yellow and brown.

Soft Succulent Sit Stay Relax 2

Don't you love the way the sunlight hits the gold foil on the background paper?

On the second card I have stamped the chair image with Evening Evergreen, stamped flowers from the Jar of Flowers stamp set onto the Soft Succulent card base, and die-cut circles from Texture Chic and Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper.

Soft Succulent Sit Stay Relax3

The Layering Circles Dies were so handy for these projects as I think different size circles always look good layered together. For the cats in chairs images and greeting, I used the Scalloped Contours Dies - which will be carrying over into our new catalogue.

Colour Creations - So Saffron

Time to say goodbye to a colour that has been in the Stampin' Up! colour range as long as I can remember!

Header

This week Stampin' Up! announced a huge colour refresh in the new annual catalogue coming in May. And tonight the Art With Heart Colour Creations team are showcasing one of the colours that will be leaving our colour range to make way for new fresh colours.

Last week I used the gorgeous Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper to show off Smoky Slate. Since the DSP is also a "retiring" product, and it has So Saffron in it, I couldn't resist using it again for this weeks blog hop.

So Saffron Happy Forest Friends cards 1

I have made two really simple cards, where the Designer Series Paper does all the work, and just a little bit of stamping is required for a greeting.

For the second card, I used up the leftover strips from the first card, flipping them over for the reverse side design. I took a photo with just the paper panels, calling it finished, but then I decided it needed a little something, something . . .

So I stamped and die-cut the cute owl and tree stump in Soft Suede ink (okay, I am dying about now!!!) and a Sweet Sorbet toadstool to pop up on dimensionals in the bottom corner of the card. I like it MUCH better.
