Colour Creations - So Saffron

Time to say goodbye to a colour that has been in the Stampin' Up! colour range as long as I can remember!

Header

This week Stampin' Up! announced a huge colour refresh in the new annual catalogue coming in May. And tonight the Art With Heart Colour Creations team are showcasing one of the colours that will be leaving our colour range to make way for new fresh colours.

Last week I used the gorgeous Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper to show off Smoky Slate. Since the DSP is also a "retiring" product, and it has So Saffron in it, I couldn't resist using it again for this weeks blog hop.

So Saffron Happy Forest Friends cards 1

I have made two really simple cards, where the Designer Series Paper does all the work, and just a little bit of stamping is required for a greeting.

For the second card, I used up the leftover strips from the first card, flipping them over for the reverse side design. I took a photo with just the paper panels, calling it finished, but then I decided it needed a little something, something . . .

So I stamped and die-cut the cute owl and tree stump in Soft Suede ink (okay, I am dying about now!!!) and a Sweet Sorbet toadstool to pop up on dimensionals in the bottom corner of the card. I like it MUCH better.

Great designs and layout to use the DSP on both cards, Kathryn, and yes I agree with you that the second card is improved with the addition of the cute owl and tree stump.

Another great week from you showcasing the patterned papers - it's so cool how they can make such wonderful cards with little stamping. Both of these are great, but agree, the addition of the owl, stump & toadstool really add the finishing touch!

It's a good feeling to finish up some DSP before the next lot arrives - I do hope you are making progress Kathryn! I'm loving seeing your different ideas, and its a yes from me for the additions too.
