Heart of Christmas - Christmas Cookies

Last week I dug out the Nothing Is Better Than stamp set to use the coffee & chocolate images to showcase Early Espresso in the Colour Creations Blog Hop.

It inspired me to use the same set again this week, but for Heart of Christmas.

HeaderSo here, we are, welcome to Heart of Christmas with the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! creative team.

What could be more Christmassy than baking a heap of cookies - to give as gifts, or just to enjoy around the Christmas tree with your family and friends?

I went for semi-traditional colours from our In Colour families to compliment the Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cookie images. The "red" patterned paper is Sweet Sorbet from the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper pack. This is mounted on an Evening Evergreen mat, and a Soft Succulent base card.

I'm am getting so much use of the Nothing is Better Than stamp set and Love You More dies, along with the Christmas to Remember stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Labels dies.  Sometimes you just need a couple of holly leaves to switch up an un-Christmas card.

And of course, you can't have a Christmas Cookie card without having the box of cookies to go with it!!

And the great thing about this box lid, is I just used up the leftover pieces from making the card. The box base is a small food-safe box I had in my (un-ending) stash, and I simply made an Evening Evergreen lid for it, and added the circles which I cut from the card front.

The inside of the card has more holly leaves and an extra cookie.

Baking cookies to eat and to gift is a huge part of my Christmas traditions, Kathryn, so your gift box and card really resonate with me. I especially love that you upcycled an existing box - so cool!

Rosa Leyden

Great idea to put a festive spin using this stamp set. I had a bit of a chuckle with the sentiment on your card Kathryn. A lovely card and box!

CHRISTINE BLAIN

Such a fun way to use the Nothing Better Than bundle, Kathryn - I love it! The colours you've used are lovely, and the co-ordinating box makes for a lovely cookie-filled gift.

Andrea Sargent

I so love your Christmas cookie card and box. Like Cathy, one of my Christmas traditions was to bake batches & batches of biscuits to give as family Christmas gifts - so your projects this week bring so many memories. The addition of holly with the red (incl Sweet Sorbet) & green colours scream Christmas. Xxx

Caroline Manwaring

Wow Kathryn, I love your Nothing’s Better Than projects - they’re terrific! I certainly would never have thought to use this bundle for Christmas but it’s perfect. And you’re so right about the addition of the holly leaves that changes it to a fun and festive look.

Claire Daly

Totally cool, both in the idea and the way you have executed it. Dare I say great 'thinking outside the box?'. Perfect gift idea for Christmas.

Kate Morgan

Michele Taylor

Kathryn I love your card and matching cookie box. What a fabulous way to incorporate the Nothing Is Better Than bundle into a Christmas project. Very creative of you. I particularly love the way the cookies on the card look like they are sitting on a plate. Fabulous!!!
