Colour Creations - Parakeet Party

Week 2 Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop

HeaderThis week we celebrate a vivacious green:

I was very happy to see this lovely colour in our new 2022-2024 In Colours. I have been wanting a lighter green that was much brighter than Pear Pizzazz. This one tones beautifully with Granny Apple Green.

The HUES OF HAPPINESS Designer Series Paper contains Granny Apple Green in all the leaves, originally painted in such a way as to provide several light and dark tones of the colour - some of which are very close to PARAKEET PARTY.

So when it came to making cards using Parakeet Party, I really wanted to show off the beautiful designer series paper again.

Parakeet Party Stampin' Up cards

I chose Parakeet Party A4 card stock for the base cards. If you mark 7cm on one short end and 14cms on the other short end, then cut on that diagonal line right across the card, you get two matching pieces to make two Zig Zag Fold Cards.

I used the Parakeet Party Ink Pad for the greeting stamps, finding a mix of greetings from a couple of different stamp sets, which I stamped onto Basic White card stock, die-cut with the smaller label die from the Painted Labels Dies.

The flowers from the Designer Series Paper are all fussy cut with my favourite Paper Snips, and adhered with Stampin' Seal.

I love how the Parakeet Party base cards really make the colours in the flowers and greetings pop.

Kathryn, you are certainly right about your Parakeet Party base cards – they really make the colours in the flowers and greetings pop. Your Zig Zag Fold Cards certainly showcase this stunning DSP. Gorgeous cards! Super impressed with your fussy cutting too!

I can't believe that you fussy cut all those flowers, especially with everything else you've got going on! The effort was totally worth it, though - your cards are so beautiful.

Andrea Sargent

Amazing cards Kathryn. Love your use of the Hues of Happiness DSP (and so much fussy cutting) with your chosen fancy fold. It all works together beautifully. Xxx
