Stampin' Up! Colour Discovery - Pretty Peacock

Hi there,

This week I have been frantically preparing for uni to start next week - I even went into RMIT today to collect a stack of gorgeous materials (hey, all art and craft materials are gorgeous, right??) for my Wednesday class. While the majority of our learning will still be online this year, I am SO excited to start back as the class descriptions this year are AWESOME!!

So, with tomato harvest coming to the fore this week, and the inundation of emails and class schedules for uni, I really lost time to create any new cards for my weekly exploration of the Stampin' Up! colours.

However, that doesn't mean I haven't got anything to share with you!

This week's colour is the beautiful, rich Pretty Peacock and I found this lovely card and matching envelope on stampinpretty.com which is Mary Fish's blog. I love her style. This card can easily be re-created with our current Pretty Peacock Designer Series Paper and the beautiful "Posted for You" bundle which includes a postage stamp punch - WHO doesn't need one of those in their life?

I also found this beautiful card.

2019_AC_BUNDLEINDEX_BANDTOGETHER-10

This shows how lovely Pretty Peacock is as a bold background, with beautiful Gold Foil Card cut with the Detailed Bands dies to form a frame for a white embossed sentiment. I think the different layers in this card are just exquisite and I am so glad Stampin' Up! has talented concept artists to share such lovely ideas with us.

I also fell in love this cute card. The In The Pines bundle is no longer available, but we have a lot of different pine tree stamps in various stamp sets, so this card can easily be re-created with a slightly different pine tree stamp. How beautiful is that Pretty Peacock sky with the watered down Craft White Ink spattered over it? I love it!

I have some dear friends who have been working with Pretty Peacock this week. If you'd like to see what they created, all of their links are over on Cathy's blog here

See you soon!

Stampin' Up! Colour Discovery - Poppy Parade

Hi! It's Kathryn here and for 36 weeks some of my dear stamping friends and I have been bringing you an alphabetical journey through the Stampin' Up! colours. This week I would like to share with you the brilliant, bright red, Poppy Parade.

Stampin' Up! Colour Discovery

www.katlodesigns.com

I have chosen to use the Stampin' Blends to colour some of our lovely Designer Series Paper which is a black and white design and is perfect for colouring.

True Love DSP

This patterned paper pack is called True Love Designer Series Paper, and it's in our January to June mini catalogue. There are 12 sheets, 12"x 12", beautiful florals on one side and versatile patterns on the reverse.

True Love Stampin' Up cards (1)

I chose the Poppy Parade Blends Duo, Old Olive Blends Duo, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Cherry Cobbler Blends to colour the rose images.

True Love Stampin' Up cards (3)

If you have never used Alcohol markers before and have been a bit intimidated by the massive range of colours on the market, the Stampin' Blends are the perfect place to start, to learn how to blend and to have perfectly coordinating dark and light shades, that also match with your Stampin' Up! inks and cardstock.

I have teamed my coloured panel with a Poppy Parade base card and Basic Black card for mats.

True Love Stampin' Up cards (4)

The sentiment is from Pretty Parasol stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink on Basic White card.  I attached an extra strip of the paper to a Poppy Parade mat and added it to the white layer inside the card.

True Love Stampin' Up cards (5)

I am always hesitant to use Poppy Parade because it is such a bright colour . . . but in real life, this card looks amazing! I love how well the Blends have worked on the DSP. I was going to post this card to someone straight away, but I might need to leave it on my bedside table for a few days! LOL

I know my dear stamping friends have been using Poppy Parade this week too, so if you would like to see some more clever creations using this fabulous bold colour, I invite you to pop over to Cathy's blog where she has a list of links to each of the talented stampers and you can check out what they have done with Poppy Parade.

See you again soon!

Berry Delightful Sheetload of Cards

This week on the Colour Creations Showcase, I shared a stack of 9 cards using the Snail Mail Suite, inspired by the Call Me Crafty Al February Sheetload of Cards.

I was planning to do the Sheetload of cards project for my team night on Thursday, but I was so enjoying making the cards up with the gorgeous, fun, whimsical Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, that I ended up finishing them all long before Team Night started!

So, if you saw my blog post, you may have seen that I promised to come back with a whole new Sheetload of Cards project that I was actually going to do AT team night LOL

And here it it!

Berry Delightful - Stampin' Up

I selected the beautiful Pacific Point and mixed Green papers from the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper. This paper is a Sale-a-bration gift with purchase and comes with a matching stamp set of different summer berries.

IMG_8571

When following the Call Me Crafty Al cutting plan, you are left with a strip of the paper leftover, so of course it goes on the inside of the cards!

IMG_8575

I stamped the sentiment panel with the small sprinkles stamp from the Icecream Corner stamp set, using Just Jade Ink, stamped off once on scrap paper before stamping onto the sentiment.

I also found an unopened packet of the lovely Iridescent Pearls embellishments from last years July to August mini catalogue which were a perfect colour  to bling up the front.

IMG_8576

I used Night of Navy card for the base card, and Garden Green and Night of Navy for the two mat layers. And in this photo you can see I also embossed the Night of Navy banner with Meadow Moments embossing folder.

Another sparkly embellishment that works really well is the Night of Navy jewels in the Holiday Rhinestones pack. I hope you like these - I can't believe there used to be a saying, "Blue & Green should never been seen unless there's a colour in between". I think these cards prove that blue and green are perfect partners!

If you'd like to find out how you can get your hands on this beautiful paper, don't hesitate to contact me - Talk soon!

Colour Creations Showcase - Pool Party

Hey! It's Kathryn here, and this week's Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase is a big favourite for lots of people!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

Welcome to the Pool Party Colour Creations Showcase!

I have been playing with the gorgeous Snail Mail Suite a lot over the past week, and when I checked this weeks's colour, I was really pleased because even though Pool Party is not in the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper pack, there are toned down shades of Bermuda Bay which would work really well with this week's colour . . . . . !

This week is also my monthly team meeting (still via Zoom), and when I was looking for inspiration for a stamping project for this week, I remembered that I follow a Youtube channel "Call Me {Crafty} Al" where Alicia does a once a month Sheetload of Cards and puts up a video and templates for what we might call a Stamp-a-stack. When I looked at her February project, I could straight away see myself using the Snail Mail DSP with Pool Party base cards.

I gathered my supplies and started chopping! There are 9 base cards and 3 pieces of each size of every patterned paper. Crafty Al uses US card sizes so I tweaked the measurements to suit our A4 card stock sizes, and also took the liberty of flipping one of the sheets over since our papers are double sided and I really like the red hearts sheet. This gave me more variety too.

The sentiments are actually a free printable download from Crafty Al which she shared in January. Rather than go through my collection looking for stamps all around the same size, I decided to print the sentiment sheet on our Basic White card, stamp the mushroom image in Pool Party ink and use our Paper Trimmer to cut them out.

The Detailed Trio Punch was used on some of the corners, then all the layers adhered with Stampin' Seal adhesive.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Pool PartyThe one inch wide Pool Party banners were created with the Triple Banner Punch, then embossed with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder with the butterflies on it (it's a pack of two embossing folders that fit the new Mini Cut & Emboss Machine).

The banners were stuck down with Tear'n'Tape and then the sentiment piece was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. I decided at the last minute to adhere an extra layer of Pool Party card as a mat under the sentiment (as you do LOL).

I was supposed to be saving these to work on in steps whilst chatting to my team on Zoom tomorrow night, but whooops!! Once I started, I couldn't stop LOL Now I will have to make another set!

Thank you so much Alicia (Crafty Owl) for your amazing inspiration and excellent downloadable instructions and cutting sheets! #SUYSFeb2021 #ShowUsYourSheetLoad

I hope you will hop over to Cathy's blog and use the links there to visit each of the other Art With Heart team members who have created with Pool Party this week.

And I guess I will be back in a few days to show you the second set that I ACTUALLY make at my team night!

Stampin' Up! Snail Mail Suite

I adore the new Snail Mail Product Collection from Stampin' Up!

For years I have wanted some miniature envelope dies and stamps and I have seen a few different ones from other brands but as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I really wanted a set I could create with that I could then also be confident that my customers could buy the same stamps and dies to use themselves.

So when our January to June Mini Catalogue came out, I was very happy to see these!

Snail Mail Suite

This week our Colour Creations Showcase was Petal Pink and even though the pink in these papers is Blushing Bride, I was happy to mix and match the pieces to make 4 cute cards - two fancy fold cards for the blog hop, then 2 really quick standard cards using up the leftover bits.

Here's my Colour Creations Showcase post.

And here is the first of my extra cards made with the leftover pieces.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (13)

Most of these pieces are die-cut from the Designer Series Paper in the suite. There is a tiny bit of stamping in the background just to anchor the toadstools and snail to the ground.

On the inside of the card I put a simple strip of the DSP.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (14)

I wanted the second card to be even more simple with a bigger "white space" to rest the eyes from the bright images.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (15)

Again, on the inside I kept the decoration simple with a strip of DSP on a layer of the same Bermuda Bay card which adds depth to the card front.

Aren't they cute!

I can't wait to do a bit more with this product suite. I can see myself needing another packet of the Designer Series Paper really soon!

Did you know you can earn a free Sale-a-bration item if you order this Product Collection. Ask my more about it today.

Colour Creations Showcase - Petal Pink

Who doesn't love a versatile soft pink which goes with everything??

AWH Colour Creations Blog Header

It's Kathryn here, and I am excited to share that this week's AWH Colour Creations Showcase is Petal Pink!

Colour Creations Showcase

www.katlodesigns.com

In our January to June Mini Catalogue we have the cutest product suite - Snail Mail. The Snail Mail Designer Series Paper is loaded with beautiful bright colours and for this week's showcase I decided to introduce Petal Pink as the base colour and bring in the colours out of the suite, using fussy cut and die-cut images from the paper and a little bit of background stamping.

IMG_8209

IMG_8213One of the first things I love to do with new Designer Series Paper that has coordinating dies, is sit and cut out a heap of shapes that I can then use on cards or other projects. By the time you have cut a dozen or so, the ideas are flowing.

IMG_8217I thought all these cut out shapes really loaned themselves to a couple of simple fancy fold cards so after cutting out a stack of shapes, I made a very straight forward "Z" fold card - Petal Pink as the base and Basic White panels.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Petal PinkThen it was just a matter of adhering the die cut (and a few fussy cut) images to the card. For the front panel I also stamped the toadstool image in Petal Pink and used the white Watercolor Pencil to add a couple of highlights.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up cards (20)The big toadstool on the front right of the "Z" fold hides the snail that appears only when the card is open. You can see that I also stamped the toadstool image on the "Z" piece.

Next I made a basic easel card with more of the pieces I had cut out earlier.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Petal PinkAll of the die cut shapes are cut from the coordinating Snail Dies set in the same catalogue - I often add other dies to the mix, but I didn't need to with this amazing product suite.

Snail Mail Stampin' Up! cards for the AWH Colour Creations Showcase Petal PinkI ended up making two more cards from all the pieces I had cut out of the paper! I will leave them for another day - because by the time I took full photos and close up photos I had about 20 photos. I don't think my blog platform will like it if I do a blog post with 20 photos in it! LOL

Anyway, you see how well the Petal Pink goes being used as a base card - kind of a substitute neutral colour on these cards. Feel free to pop back in a couple of days to see the other two cards - they are standard cards, not fancy fold - and I whipped them up in about 10 minutes each just using the leftover pieces. Got to love that!!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my Snail Mail projects, and if you would like to see how the rest of the Art With Heart ladies have used Petal Pink, please hop over to Cathy's blog where she has all the links for their posts.

See you soon with ink on your fingers!
