Colour Creations Showcase - Old Olive

Hey! It's Kathryn here, welcome to the  Colour Creations Showcase where some of my lovely demonstrator friends on the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team share ideas for how to use each of the Stampin' Up! colours. Each week we showcase a different colour and this week it's Old Olive.

This week I have tried something different.  I have my team night tomorrow night which like all of last year, is going to be via Zoom. So over the weekend I went looking for some card sketches and posted them on my group to challenge the ladies to put together mini kits for themselves that we can make while we are chatting on Zoom tomorrow night.

I have been subscribed to Becky Fleck's pagemaps for many years so I was very happy to see these cardmaps - one landscape and one portrait for January 2021.

I have been LOVING using up my collection of Designer Series Papers recently, and when I saw these sketches, along with knowing that this week's colour is Old Olive, I KNEW I was going to use the new delicious Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper from the January to June Mini Catalogue. (And in Melbourne' it's been perfect weather for icecream too!).

Don't you love all those bright gelato colours?

Here's what I came up with:

Ice Cream Corner Stampin' Up! cards for the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase

Don't you love the way the Old Olive base card and the Old Olive ink in the stamped greeting really brings out the green in the papers?

For the portrait card I chose the smaller pattern on the reverse side of one of the papers for the background of the top half, and opted for a few less banners as the paper was so pretty anyway.

See you next week!

Lovely cards Kathryn, both sketches works perfectly with the Ice Cream DSP

CHRISTINE BLAIN

Unfortunately I can't see your second card ... but your first is delightful. I agree, using Old Olive as the card base, and for the sentiment, really brings out the green in those gorgeous papers. Great choice! I'm hoping when I next come back to visit, I might be able to see your last two photos - at the moment they're grey boxes, with a little bit of the striped paper visible at the top. :(

Tina Gillespie

Your cards are so cute, Kathryn! I have that whole suite, but I am yet to crack it open. I really feel like diving in after seeing your gorgeous cards.

Andrea Sargent

I love your first card Kathryn. Like Christine, I can only see a little bit of the last two photos. The sketches you have chosen are great and a really good way to set up for a team Zoom meeting. The bright gelato colours are such fun in this DSP and your card is such fun too. xxx

Catherine Proctor

Oh Kathryn these card layouts are just perfect for showcasing that stunning DSP and your happy birthday sentiment really pops. Unfortunately your second card images are not loading for me but thank you for your Old Olive colour inspiration this week x

Caroline Manwaring

Great interpretation of the “sketch” designs Kathryn. I love the look of Old Olive with this dsp, it does bring out the greens in the patterns. Great fun, bright cards.

Kate Morgan

Yes, sketches are a perfect way to be inspired and you have done an amazing job with these papers. I haven't used them as yet, and I really should with Summer holidays almost over!

Ros Davidson

Great idea using the Page Maps sketch. It reminded me to subscribe to the newsletter again. Thanks for that!
