MAY CARD MAKING INSPIRATION
Retiring In Colors

Mothers Day Cards

Freshly BrewedA new blog hop for me tonight, joining in with a just a couple of my very clever stamping friends to bring you some gorgeous inspiration.  The theme this week is Mother's Day, but this one is a bit of a double whammy because last week we got to know which products were retiring from our current Stampin' Up! catalogue and not carrying over into the new one in June.

So I have used a stamp set that I have had almost since it first came out - and it's never seen ink . . . . !!! And now it's retiring. I truly can't actually believe it! But, better late than never right?

The stamp set is Tea Together and I have used the two Mother's Day stamps, one on the cover and one inside.

I have teamed it with Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder - one of my favourites!

And Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. The base card is Gray Granite, with a layer of thin Whisper White.

I've also introduced another favourite product into this card - our vellum cardstock. Not only have I stamped the Forever Blossoms on to it, but I have used vellum for the main base layer - that gorgeous textured pink layer.

The flowers are stamped using Basic Gray Classic Ink. The embossed vellum is sponged on the reverse side with Rococo Rose Ink.

The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray and the label die is from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. There is a Basic Gray fancy die cut layer and a few gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones finish the front.

I couldn't leave the inside blank, so I added more die cut and sponged vellum flowers and leaves and an extra strip of the Basic Gray Border die cut.

Most of the elements are adhered with mini glue dots.  You can see thumbnails of the supplies at the bottom of this post, and please let me know what you think by leaving a comment xx
