When I saw the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack, my first thought was kind of along the lines of what am I ever going to do with daggy old knitted tartan print patterns??

Well, if you saw my Angel cards using the Wonder of Christmas stamp set a couple of months back, you will know I soon got over that negative thought! I had olde worlde patchwork quilt patterns popping up every where!

I love it when I get asked to make a really special card for someone's significant birthday.

Firstly, it's a compliment that someone loves my work enough to invite me to craft something beautiful for them to give to someone they really care about, and secondly, it allows me a chance to extend myself beyond my normal everyday cards.

I was recently asked to make a 90th Birthday Card for a much loved Mum - something bright and floral and larger than standard size.

I teamed Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper with Botanical Blooms Thinlet Dies and the Numbers of Years and Letters for You stamp sets and framelits to create this centre step card. I love it! And so did the lady who asked me to create it.

Here's a couple of the steps.

The base card is full A4 Shimmer White card, scored in half and then the centre step scorelines and cuts made at 3cm in from each edge.

The mats of Rich Razzleberry and the DSP were then cut to fit inside each panel (lots of measuring with a clear ruler).

I then cut stacks (more than I would need) of flowers and leaves from the Botanical Blooms Thinlets in Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and stamped the lines on the leaves.

The numbers and letters were stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Shimmery White and cut out and it was all adhered together with a mix of mini gluedots, Stampin' Dimenionals and Fast Fuse Tape.

I love that it was big enough to put MUM on the inside with still plenty of space to write.

A few people have commented to me that the Numbers of Years and Letters for You bundles of stamps and framelits are just too expensive. However, I have used them so much already that they have certainly paid for themselves! And they are in our Annual Catalogue which means they are available to order for another seven (7) or so months, so you can certainly get your money's worth!

Or, consider getting them as part of a Stampin' Up! starter kit, where you select $235 of product but only pay $169 for it. Bargain!

Do you like a production line?

It's great when you've worked out a design you love, and can then quickly cut up the card stock and stamp out all the images in a very short amount of time.

However, it's no so much fun when you work so quickly that all of a sudden you have 48 card fronts stamped and cut, and then you have to do some colouring in, and add ribbon and embellishments, and adhere them all together! That can sure take a while!

And here's proof!

This was me two weeks ago, sitting on my Qantas Flight to Brisbane for Stampin' Up!s Onstage Live event, with my fast fuse in one hand and my swaps spread out on the tray table so I could start sticking the layers together!

See, not even coloured in yet, and ribbon needing to be attached - oh, but you can't CUT ribbon on a plane because you can't take scissors!!

Later on, in the hotel room, sitting cross legged on the floor at the coffee table with two of my team-mates helping me . . . cut, colour, attach . . . cut, colour, attach . . .

And bagging them up in cello bags, and sticking labels on the backs . . . 

I loved the finished item with it's super quick collage stamping, and high-lighting the stunning stamp from Fabulous Flora stamp set. There were eight variations - a portrait and a landscape version in four different colour versions - featuring Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder.

I loved working with these colours - and you know what? I loved the design idea so much, I have now made another half a dozen variations, but I'll show you those another day!

And you know another really cool thing?  I got the idea for these cards straight out of the catalogue. That's right, the flower image is from one of our hostess rewards stamp sets called Fabulous Flora and the sample shown on page 199 of our annual catalogue was all I needed to see to inspire my 48 card front swaps for On Stage.

As I was preparing to go to Stampin' Up!s On Stage Live event last week - a three day convention packed full of product demonstrations, make and take projects, gifts from the new catalogue coming in January, fun, friendship, leadership training, business ideas, recognition and rewards . . .  word came through that one of my lovely Tasmanian team members had advanced in title from Bronze Elite to Silver demonstrator.
