About a week ago, a card by US demonstrator Debbie Mageed popped up in my Facebook feed and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to recreate it in a Christmas version.
So using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and the new Merry Moments Designer Series Paper - along with returning favourite Festive Trees stamp set, I created this while on our casual kiosk at Chirnside Park shopping centre last week. I just love it!
How did I get the Floral Frames dies to cut the edges with those folds? Very easy following Debbie's straight forward instructions.
I'm hosting a great big Christmas in July event soon and have been making lots of goodies for it, so I also wanted to show you today my advent calendar. This one is made from the Tiny Treats boxes. They are so cute, so easy to assemble and you get 25 food safe boxes in a pack for only $12.25.
This is what the stack of boxes looked like with just the ribbon decoration added - don't we have the yummiest ribbons in the Stampin' Up! catalogue? Have you felt how soft those Striped Grosgrain ones are?
But you probably want to see the finished boxes right?

Fabulous projects, Kathryn! I love how you used the Floral Frames dies to make that impressive card. I'm also impressed by the level of detail in each of your advent calendar boxes. They've been on my to-do list now for a couple of years. You've inspired me!

Wow, what an amazing project Kathryn. Love all the details you have put into each box. For my niece's Advent calendar I alternated a couple of sweets with small items like hair clips/bands, stamps, little figurines etc.

What a very unusual card but it looks great. You have done an amazing job on the advent calendar. Lots of little presents to be included in these.

Hello! Your card is beautiful as are the advent boxes!! And I really appreciate the shout-out! BTW I have a daughter living in Australia and would love to visit someday.

If you are religious you could put small plastic Nativity pieces in the boxes. Or you could put notes of fun things to do everyday, like bake cookies, or make cards- great if you have kids. The calendar boxes are beautiful!

Thanks for your great ideas for the Advent Calendar goodies Judi. I especially like the idea of little notes, kind of like I.O.U's - how fun would that be to take photos of them opening the notes, doing the activities and then scrapbooking it later!
