Retiring Products Blog Hop

Welcome to our final ESAD blog hop for the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, especially if you are coming to me from Andrea Buckland's blog - welcome.

ESAD Blog Header

These retiring products have been among our favourites, so we thought we’d give them another good bash before they are no longer available for sale.

Which retiring products am I going to miss?

I've picked out three of my favourites from the last catalogue year - Betsy’s Blossoms Stamp Set, Bug Me Stamp Set and the really gorgeous Simply Fabulous Simply Sent Kit.

Betsy's Blossoms Bug Me (3)

But, before I show you more of my Bug Me Betsy Blossom Cards, you may be wondering :

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and is a facebook group just for Australian and New Zealand Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends and blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas & friendship and we're always there to help and support each other.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to leave me a comment with your email address then I'll contact you with information on how to join our group.

Betsy's Blossoms Bug Me (1)

I've had these little frames in my collection for a while and decided to fill them up with cheerfulness - I've loved Bug Me and Betsy's Blossoms stamp sets and will be keeping them in my stash as they are so useful and cute!

Betsy's Blossoms Bug Me (2)

Can you imagine these grouped on a nursery wall?

Or even without the frames, they'd make a super cute pack of note cards for someone special.

Cards For A Cure

Almost all of us have family members, friends and neighbours who have been affected by breast cancer. This widespread disease has also touched the lives of members of the Stampin' Up! family, and contributions to breast cancer research have been an imortant part of Stampin' Up!'s philanthropic outreach.

Stampin' Up! are currently selling Ready. Set. Send. kits through the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and will donate $10 to NBCF for each kit sold. The Ready. Set. Send. kit features handmade cards and includes five thank you cards, five birthday cards and 10 envelopes.

Ready.Set.Send (450x331)

These fantastic card packs would make a great gift, but are awesome to have on hand when you realise you need a card in a hurry but don't have time to make one from scratch. Your recipient still gets a beautiful hand made card, and you get the satisfaction of knowing you supported a very, very good cause, the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Packs are only $19.95 plus postage (remember $10 goes to the NBCF) and you can order one or several packs online here.

Saying Goodbye

As happens each year when a brand new catalogue is about to start, some of our favourite stamp sets, tools and accessories, have to GO, to make way for new ones, new colours, new stamp sets, new ribbons! It is an exciting time, but also sad to see some of our favourites disappearing.

Which stamp set am I saddest to see go??

It has to be Creative Elements stamp set. Its been in our annual catalogue for about three years now, and is one of my most used stamp sets - I'm really going to miss it. Think I will be stashing that one in my "Keeping" pile!

Creative Elements

Which accessories am I saddest to see go?

Not just sad, (but gobsmacked!) that the totally gorgeous In-Colour Ruffle Stretch Trim is being retired. I have love, love, loved this pretty ribbon for my girlie projects, and I was really surprised to see it on the list!

I've attached the files for the retiring stamp sets and accessories so you can download them and print them.

Using up the Stampin' Stash!

Hey everyone,

With the Stampin' Up! retired list out at the moment, I wanted to revisit some projects to use up the Stampin' Stash. Got to make room for all those new goodies when the new catalogue starts!

This cute project uses the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper which is retiring, and since my little friend who was celebrating her 18th birthday is pretty keen on anything French, I dug out a couple of "Never Leaving My Stash" stamp sets to embellish her card.

Soho Subway Card-in-a-box (10) (452x499)

There are lots and lots of online tutorials and You Tube videos for how to make a card-in-a-box, so rather than telling you how to do it, I'm just going to give you my two best tips for constructing it.

#1 Tip : Decorate the whole outside of the box including flaps with layers, stamping and embellishments, BEFORE you stick the box together.

Soho Subway Card-in-a-box (1) (499x345)

That means stamping the panels before you stick down the layers.

Soho Subway Card-in-a-box (2) (499x330)

#2 Tip : For the cross pieces inside the box, even though it means holding them for a minute, adhere with Tombow Mono Glue, not Sticky Strip. If you adhere with glue, you get a bit of lee time to adjust the position. If you stick with Sticky Strip, it's STUCK and there's nothing you can do to adjust it.

Soho Subway Card-in-a-box (5) (443x499)

This card-in-a-box was made using the 8"x 9" piece so the finished card fits inside a normal C5 envelope.

Back soon with more to show you!
