Cardmaking Ideas at the Papercraft Expo

Hey there!

I promised I would show off some of the bits and pieces from our beautiful Stampin' Up! stand at the Melbourne Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo last week.

At the Expo, I demonstrated our new Spiral Flower Originals Die which is on page 32 of the Celebrate the Everyday Occasions Catalogue.

This die allows you to make the cutest flowers! One of my kind team members made a couple of sample projects and half a dozen spare flowers for our Create, Care & Share event earlier this month and it inspired me to make a few more samples and to take the die to the show to teach others what it can do.

This card was inspired by a wall frame decor piece I saw online, created by Cindy Hall at Prettyimpact.com.

I've stamped the Swallowtail Butterfly stamp twice, lining it up on the reverse of the same piece of card, and colouring it with our fabulous Stampin' Write markers.

The butterflies antennas are drawn onto the card base with the black Stampin' Write marker, and one wing is attached lying flat on the card.

The Little Leaves Sizzlet creates the leaves to compliment the Strawberry Slush flower made using the Spiral Flower Originals Die.

I'll be back over the weekend to give you some more closeups of some of the show projects - in particular the heart box which has a Spiral Flower on the lid.

Happy Stampin' Weekend!

Well, we have an exciting weekend in Stampin' land! Tomorrow we are off to the Melbourne Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo, so there's lots of creativity going on today to share with you on the Stampin' Up! stand at the show tomorrow.

We'll be doing Make & Take projects and product demonstrations at the show and have lots of lovely things to show you - so we hope if you're in Melbourne and planning a visit to the show on Sunday, that you'll come and say "Hi".

What have I been making lately?

During the Occasional Catalogue & Sale-a-bration pre-order period for Stampin' Up! demonstrators, the girls on my team participated in a card front swap. We do these to share cardmaking ideas and so that everyone has a wide variety of project samples using brand new products from the upcoming catalogue. That saves each of us from having to buy all the products from day one, and gives us lots of inspiration!

Nine ladies participated in the swap, each making 12 card fronts - 2 different designs, 6 of each.

Here are mine.

Happy Congratulations Card

This card uses the new stamp set Happy Congratulations, and the Sketched Birthday stamp set from our Annual Catalogue. The background paper is Watercolour Wonder DSP from our Occasions Catalogue.

The next six I created used the Petite Petals bundle (stamps and punch) the new Scallop Tag Topper Punch and another of the designs from the Watercolour Wonder DSP for the background.

Love the colours in the paper - so easy to make pretty, co-ordinating cards!

Well, that's it from me today - I do hope you'll pop by the stand and see us tomorrow if you at the craft show - see you then!

Baby, We've Grown - Stampin' Up! ESAD Blog Hop

1620439_682454408444527_1650089597_n (499x262)

Welcome to my little corner of Blog Land on the ESAD Occasional Catalogue Blog Hop, where I hope you have been getting lots of awesome cardmaking and scrapbooking ideas!

You may have arrived here via Chloe Evans blog. If so, welcome. If not, then you are in for the ride of your life with this inspiring blog hop, of amazing projects by talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators who all belong to a FaceBook group called ESAD.

There are 25 demonstrators on the blog hop, so hopefully you've got an hour or so to spare, to visit each one of our blogs - the links at the bottom of each one should take you to the next. We'd love to know what you think of our creative work, so please leave a comment if you have time!

I chose the new stamp set "Baby, We've Grown" for the blog hop. It's one of those stamp sets which you kind of think, "Do I need it or not??" But then once you've used it, or seen samples - it does become a must have item. I am so in love with the rabbit stamp!

Baby, We've Grown Stampin Up (3) (499x373)

Oh, and how about that cute greeting stamp, partly shaded with Stampin' Write Markers? I've used Wild Wasabi and Pistachio Pudding markers with Blender Pens to add a splash of colour to the text.

I've stamped the cute bunny straight onto Pistachio Pudding Chevron patterned paper from the In-Colour Pattern Stack, so it looks like a stripey stuffed toy, and just added a tiny bit of shading also with the markers.

And of course there's a small snippet of the gorgeous "Sweet Sorbet" Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper at the bottom.

I love the bunny stamp so much, I had to make more than one card. This one is more particular about the gender of the new born baby!

Baby, We've Grown Stampin Up (4) (499x373)

Just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper, AND it works with the Sweet Sorbet DSP as well. This tag is punched using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, which I am sure you will be seeing a lot of - it's awesome!! Both of these products are also in the Occasions Catalogue.

I've also used Stampin' Up! watercolour paper so I could do the wet-on-wet watercolouring of the bunny.

This time I've used the Aqua-painter to colour the bunny and letters. It's filled with water and I pick up ink out of the lids of our Classic Stampin' Ink Pads to colour with. I have been using an awful lot of Crisp Canteloupe & Calypso Coral combinations lately. It just works so well!

The reason I actually bought Baby, You've Grown, wasn't even the bunny stamp, but the cute OWL family. So I had better show you the card I made with that too. It's perfect for announcing a new arrival in the family!

Baby, We've Grown Stampin Up (5) (499x373)

Ha, ha! Just realised, this card HAD to have the bunny stamp as well!

The main pennant on this card was also Watercolour Paper, coloured using the Aqua-painter and inks direct from the inkpad.

I just love authentic watercolouring, where you wet the paper after stamping, then add colour, letting it bleed, allowing it to dry, adding more layers - it's so amazing and beautiful when it dries.

I really loved creating these projects!

And this is what the complete set of stamps looks like :

It's on page 28 of the Occasions Catalogue.

You may be wondering how I got into this "Blog Hop" and what on earth is ESAD!!

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas & friendship, and we're always there to help and support each other.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to leave me a comment with your Email address and I'll contact you with information on how to join our wonderful group.
