Autumn Winter Mini Ends Today

Well, what a great journey it has been with the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue! I have loved every product and have had such a great time creating beautiful cards and 3D items using the Designer Labels Framelits, the Edgelits, the Simply Scored Tool, the gorgeous Elegant Bird Die!

How I am HOPING that some of these will carry over into our new catalogue in September!!

Since July was very much a Christmas in July month, with heaps of Christmas items being made, I thought I'd finish the month with a couple more Christmas cards I have made in recent weeks.

Edgelits Christmas Ornament (1)

This cheery Christmas card is made using the Edgelits and the Framelits Dies from the Autumn Winter Mini. I have kept the background really simple because of the complexity of the ornament.

Edgelits Christmas Ornament (2)

Don't you love the luxury of all that texture and the warm reds and greens?

The next card I'd like to show you has been "Cased" from dozens I have seen floating around lately. It seems there is a new fashion trend happening because everywhere I look I see "Triple Time" cards. At first I wasn't that keen to give the technique a go - just because everyone else was already jumping on the bandwagon, and because it uses a LOT of card stock - 6 layers!!!!

But then I saw this YouTube video by Dawn O, and I was inspired to give it a go. Her card is gorgeous!

As I was busy prepping Christmas in July workshops, I decided to stick with that theme. What do you think?

Vintage Vogue Triple Time card (1)

I was really pleased with how this Vintage Vogue, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive card came up - considering I wasn't even going to give the technique a go! Glad I did!

Masculine Thank You card

Hi everyone,

Just a quick card for you today. Masculine cards are often hard to come up with ideas for, and so I love raiding my stash of retired products to see what inspires me.  Found some Designer Series Paper that would work for a Man-Card and just teamed it with a really simple design.

Male thanks card

Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake make a nice combination.  As does a little masculine texture in the form of the Square Lattice embossing folder. I have brayered ink over the embossed greeting.  Like that effect?

Hi everyone,

Well, just a week left until my Christmas in July events. Stamp club on Thursday night will have a Christmas in July theme, then Christmas in July workshops are being held on Friday night 7pm-10pm and Saturday afternoon 2pm-5pm. All in My Stamping Room in Croydon North.

The workshops are free. Come along for a browse at the cute Christmas ideas, have a final look at the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue which finishes on the 31st July, make an elegant Christmas card, book in for August Retired List parties! It will be a fun evening / afternoon.  There are a couple of seats left in each session (sessions will be the same, so just pick your preferred time slot and rsvp via email or text).

And here's a little sneak peak of what you might see on the day.

Fun Flowers - Guest Artist

Today I have a really lovely card to share with you - one that's fairly easy to make, but is no less sophisticated for it's simplicity.

I also have the pleasure of introducing my mum Jenny to you - many of you have already met her at my stamping events and she came to Convention Mum at Conventionwith us this year - well today's gorgeous card is made by her!

That's mum at Convention admiring a gorgeous project which one very talented demonstrator created. So sorry her name completely fails me at the moment, but I am sure it will come to me as soon I hit send on this message!

This quilt is made with a combination of Stampin' Up! Fabrics and images and the talented created has embroided and stitched beyond anything I could even image - mum and I were both in awe of this totally gorgeous work!

If anyone does happen to remember this talented lady's name, please leave it in the comments below so we can acknowledge her skill!

Back to mum's card! A friend is having a significant birthday soon, so mum came over and had a practice with the Big Shot and some lovely flower dies - Fun Flowers Bigz L Die & Blossom Party (all from Stampin' Up!) and we raided our stash of "retired" card stock to pick some pretty colours - Lovely Lilac and Cameo Coral.

Bird Die 007

The base card is Confetti White -and interestingly some of specks in the card appeared to be exactly Cameo Coral and Lovely Lilac! She used the colour spritzer tool to add a bit more colour to the base card, and embossed the front with another Big Shot product - a textured embossing folder.

Bird Die 006

The flowers were cut out, spritzed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz then layered onto the card with brads, some Little Leaves were added and the final touch was just a delicate greeting on the top so as not to detract from the bold flowers.

I think it came up a treat and I am sure the recipient is going to love it! Well done Mum, it's a gorgeous card and you did a great job with it - so excited for you, that your own Big Shot is going to arrive any day now!

If you'd like to see how these flowers are made, or even to purchase a Big Shot or accessories, then please get in touch with me to arrange a free demonstration for you! You can even get a Big Shot for free with our current hostess benefits!! Email me today if you'd like to know how! [email protected]

Elegant Birds Party

When I first saw the Elegant Bird Die in the Autumn Winter mini catalogue, I have to confess I was a bit ho-hum about it. Not that I didn't LIKE it, I just thought it was too big and wondered what on earth else you could do with.

Well, after a trip to Stampin' Up! Convention where the very talented Beth Stewart showed us some gorgeous projects using this die, and a bit of a browse through Stampin' Connection, our demonstrator forum, I found lots of inspiration.

My stamp club girls had lots of fun on Friday night making some very cheerful cards based on some extra colourful funny cards made by Betty Traciak, an SU! demonstrator in the US. I loved Betty's gorgeous primary coloured cards, however for our group, I chose Flirtatious Designer Series Paper for the background and Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush for the co-ordinating card.

Bird Die 001

All of a sudden these aren't looking like the "elegant" birds they are supposed to be, but they just need a bit of dressing up!

Bird Die 003

With ties from the stamp set Best Dad Ever, and some adhesive jewels, rhinestone or pearl, these little chooks can be very comically elegant!

Bird Die 011

Some of them have been embossed using various Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Others have been stamped for a bit of pattern.

Bird Die 013

Bird Die 009

I had such fun making these and playing with various other ideas using the Elegant Bird Die. The Autumn Winter Mini finishes this month, so make sure you check it out. And if you'd like to see some other gorgeous projects using the Elegant Bird Die, then be sure to book into one of my Christmas in July workshops as we will be using it there!

Christmas in July sessions start this Friday night, 7.30pm at my place. All the details are on my class page - just click the Class & Events tab at the top of this post.

Hope to hear from you soon.
