Apothecary Art & Attic Boutique

I am absolutely loving the stamp sets and Designer Series Papers in the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. The are just too pretty for words! I made a big stack of birthday cards a few weeks ago - remember this one?

Apothecary Art Birthday card

My sister held her Stamp Club while I was in Tassie a couple of weekends ago and we decided to do the same card, but we gave the ladies the choice of doing a pink option instead. I adore how the pink one came out - so pretty!

We didn't have any suppliers of pink ribbon handy, so we switched it for an embossed strip of Soft Suede card stock and some punched flowers with half pearl centres. Isn't that cute?

The stamp set used here is new to our range, in the Autumn Winter Mini. It's called Apothecary Art and has these lovely label stamps and some co-ordinating greetings. The gorgeous printed background paper is Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper - love, love, love it!! I didn't think I would ever be brave enough to take a pair of scissors to this paper - but I'm glad I decided to have a play!

Two important things :

  • I have two spaces left for my Thursday night stamp club. We can kick it off with just one more person, so if you've been hesitating because you thought the club was full, or that you might not be able to make Thursday nights, please let me know - you don't have to physically attend to be part of the fun!
  • Tomorrow there's a special inspirational treat coming your way. Some of my wider stamping and papercraft group are holding a Scrapbook Page blog hop, featuring more of our gorgeous Designer Series Papers to give you lots of inspiring ideas and projects. You can start here at my blog, anytime after 6am.

See you then!!

Tea for Two

Hi there,

Hope you had a lovely family day yesterday, wherever you were and however your family commemorates (or doesn't commemorate) ANZAC day.

ANZAC day is a big tradition in our family with both grandfathers and many great uncles and great-great uncles serving in both World Wars. We attended the Croydon dawn service in the pouring rain and at various times during the day turned on the tv to see parts of the Gallipoli and Villiers Bretonneaux dawn services - very moving!

Today I wanted to share with you a fun card I made for a recent swap with some of my wider team members, so that all of us could have a play with new mini catalogue products. I chose the gorgeous stamp set, Tea Shoppe - love that set!

Tea Shoppe Cards (1)

Tea Shoppe is a set of 10 stamps, available in wood mounted $61.95 or clear mount $49.95 and I can't wait to use it a bit more. This time I have stamped the images and used co-ordinating card stock and ribbon in Island Indigo, one of our 2011-2113 In Colours, and have matched this with very gorgeous Designer Series Printed Paper - Twitterpated, which is also available in the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.

Rue de Fleurs

Hi everyone, how are you?

I am loving the new stamp sets in the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. One of my favourites is a highly detailed feminine vintage stamp set called Rue de Fleurs. I love inking these detailed stamps up with the Stampin' Write markers direct to rubber and getting beautifully coloured images.

I spent just a short time making a couple of birthday cards on Monday using this set - see what you think!

Did you notice the sneak peak of a couple of other new products there too? On the left hand border is gorgeous pleated satin ribbon in Pear Pizzazz, a strip of designer series paper from the Twitterpated pack of 12"x12" double sided papers, and the scallop border is cut using the new Edgelits Dies and embossed with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions folder. WOW! So many new things!

In case you are not in a position to buy everything at once, here is the same card again using our Scallop Eyelet Border punch instead of the new Edgelits, to show you can get the same great effect with products you may already have.

It's just as pretty, don't you think?

If you have any questions about the techniques or products used on this card, don't forget you can click on comments below and leave a question, and I'll try to email you back in the next day or two.

Hope you have a nice day!

Big Top Birthday Iris Folding Cat Card

Boy, how's that for a title?  Got you wondering?

Well, Big Top Birthday is the name of the gorgeous bright Designer Series Paper I have used in a birthday card for a cat-loving family member, and Iris Folding is the technique by which I have shown off this cheerful paper.

Iris Folding Cat Card

The base card is Certainly Celery with a layer of Tempting Turquoise. The cat is cut from Whisper White card, onto which the Iris Folding has been attached - you do all these lovely layers from the back. I have also used here Pacific Point ink for the greeting and some flower punches for the cute flower at his neck.

Iris Folding Cat Card2

I did need a couple more colours so I added some more DSP from my collection - Pear Pizzazz Patterns Stack print, and some scraps from a retired pack of DSP which had very similar cheerful colours.

Iris Folding Cat Card3

I just love how bright and cheery he came up, and I understand the birthday girl did too!

If you're away over the Easter long weekend, or just taking a break at home, I hope you are having a very relaxing, safe & enjoyable time with your family. Catch you again soon!

Kathryn.

Happy New Stampin' Up! Year

and Happy New Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue!

The brand new products in the AUS / NZ Stampin' Up! Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue are fabulous and I can't wait to get my hands on LOTS of them!

One of my favourites is a gorgeous addition to Shelli's Signature Collection; a set of 10 stamps called Tea Shoppe. I had a play with this stamp set recently when completing a 12"x12" layout of a day trip to Sydney with mum.

Tea Shoppe Layout

All the stamped images on this layout have been inked with the Stampin' Write Markers, direct to rubber, so you can enjoy multicoloured stamping in one step. I love this technique. When you lift the stamp off the card, you're never entirely sure what effect you're going to get, and it's always a delight!

Tea Shoppe Layout1

To match the colours in the photos, I have chosen River Rock, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Real Red markers for this layout. Love all those neutral colours together with a splash of red.

There are two more new product sneak peaks in this layout. Can you pick them?

Horses & layouts 060

Yes, there is a lovely, lovely stamp set called Apothecary Art, a set of 6 stamps with truly beautiful labels, which co-ordinates beautifully with the Labels Collections Framelits Dies, also in the mini catalogue.  Aaaahhh Heaven!

Want to see the mini catalogue right now?  You can flick through the pages online at the Stampin' Up! Customer website. Or you can come to my Mini Catalogue Launch workshop in my stamping room on Saturday 28th April at 2pm. We'll have a look at lots of the new goodies, try a couple of them out, have a door prize and divvy up the hostess benefits so there'll be lots of goodies for everyone!  Let me know if you'd like to come. RSVP on my demonstrator website or Facebook or email [email protected] for the address.

April is a busy month with school holidays and Easter - but I sure hope to catch up with you soon!
