It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
December 06, 2011
Well, it's such a busy month already, and most of the activities so far have had lots of sparkle and a good dose of cheer, so it definitely feels like the silly season is only just around the corner!
I did a workshop on Friday night for my lovely friend Wendy where we got into the Christmas spirit with lots of Big Shot embossing and stocking punches in traditional reds and greens.
Saturday morning I dug out every Christmas card I have ever made (and not sent) and did a little re-jig / remake, adding backs to a few, changing the inserts etc, so that Tony & I ended up with around 25 cards to send out to family & friends. What a great idea that was - recycle, re-use, re-invent. And it only took about 3 hours instead of 3 months!
Saturday afternoon Tony & I headed into the city for a work Christmas-do which was just a little bit fancy and lots of fun. Here's a little sneak peak off us all dressed to impress!
We even treated ourselves to a night in a swisho hotel, and picked up some little stocking fillers at the Art Centre Craft Market after a leisurely Sunday Southbank breakfast.
We spent a couple of hours writing out Christmas Cards to some of the interstate rellies, so they get them before Easter (LOL) and last night we had our very lovely final Bush Fire Community Christmas Dinner for the year - what a wonderful night!
I have had time to make a couple of brand new Christmas cards, and I wanted to share those with you, as they are not made with Christmas paper or ribbon, so if you have run out of those, and don't have time for an extra trip to the shops, how about using some "Un-Christmas" designs like these to send your messages :
Cherry Cobbler is a very Christmassy colour, and matched with River Rock and Island Indigo it makes a very fashionable and modern Christmas statement. The gorgeous background papers here are from Stampin' Up! Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper, and I have teamed it with Season Of Joy Stamp Set.
The ribbon I have selected is from my "retired" Stampin' Up! stash - a scrap of River Rock from a couple of years ago. Don't you love how versatile the Decorative Label Punch is?
How are you going with making (and posting!!) your Christmas Cards this year? Is it too scary to think about, or are you all organised and getting ready to relax and enjoy the Festive Season?
I'd love to hear how your preparation is going, so feel free to leave a comment by clicking on comments below!
Catch up with you again soon!
