Elegant Soiree - a Perfect Welcome Home
May 04, 2011
I haven't made too many housewarming or congratulations on your new home cards, in fact, I don't really remember ever making one. So I was really keen recently to make a couple - to increase my repertoire, use a stamp set I haven't touched for a long time, AND to have two cards to give to TWO of my gorgeous girl friends who are MOVING HOUSE!
Many of my regular customers will have the totally cute GOOD NEIGHBOURS stamp set from Sale-a-bration 2010. I have been dying to use it again, it's soooo cute! I wanted to use patterened paper as a background, preferably with swirls or flourishes that could double as hills and roads in a mini-town or map feel. I went through my whole pile of current Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers and as soon as I looked at Elegant Soiree, I thought "Hmmmmm, I can work with those colours!!!!!!!"
I have teamed the paper and house stamps with the retired greeting set "Once Upon a Time" which I think has the perfect lines for people who have just bought their very first home, or for a princess who has just moved into her own palace!
The ink and background card colours are Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake with the feature houses stamped in More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler.
I am so happy with how these turned out, and loved digging out these two old stamp sets to team with the gorgeous Elegant Soiree DSP. If you were moving, you could make a similar card to send out to friends and family with "New Address" on it.
Did you know that Stampin' Up! are running Deals of the Week throughout May? There are some real bargains to be had - and this week there are some stamp sets that are up to 40% off! I will be placing an order, so if you'd like to grab a bargain too, give me a call to add your items to the list! Here's the link to what's on sale click here
Cheers, Kathryn
